Counselors at ISB:<ul><li>Provide meaningful, intentional learning opportunities aligned with the practices, standards, benchmarks, and learning outcomes of the ISB curriculum, along with its Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Community of Practice</li><li>Actively participate in collaborative team meetings with a growth mindset and focus on improving learning for all students</li><li>Partner with teachers, administration, and other staff to ensure care and support for the social, emotional and learning success of students</li><li>Engage in professional development to ensure research-supported practices in the instruction and care of children are used at ISB</li><li>Communicate directly and collaboratively with parents or guardians to positively improve student learning and/or well-being</li><li>Positively contribute to school culture through positivity, care for others, and shared sense of purpose and community</li><li>Maintain a mindset of high expectations facilitated through systems of high support</li><li>Participate in the Admissions Process: review files, interpret findings of outside assessments, and make recommendations which may include assessing new students, conducting intake interviews, meeting with families, etc.</li></ul>Other Duties:&nbsp;<ul><li>Collaborate with teachers and leadership teams to integrate social-emotional learning and wellbeing into daily classroom practice and the wider school experience</li><li>Use counseling expertise to support proactive systems of student care, including MTSS structures, responsive services, and Tier 2 interventions that promote growth for all learners</li><li>Serve as a visible advocate for student wellbeing, strengthening connections among school, home, and community to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and ready to learn</li><li>Facilitate parent education workshops and information sessions on topics related to child development, wellbeing, and safeguarding</li><li>Support student and family transitions, including orientation for new students, grade-to-grade moves, and departures</li><li>Encouraged to support student participation and connection through sponsorship of a student club or non-stipended extracurricular activity</li><li>Crisis response at the individual or whole school level; Serve as a active member of the Safeguarding Team.</li></ul>
