  <p>As a Family and Carer Ambassador, you will provide practical and emotional support to families and carers of those with complex mental health needs. You will also offer advocacy to ensure that the families / carers and patients' needs and views are heard and acted on, whatever their communication needs are. You will identify and address cross organisational challenges. You will work closely with key agencies across the health, education, social care and voluntary sector; this will also include links with adult services where either there are requirements for transition planning to adult services or where the families / carers are receiving adult service support.</p>  <p>To be successful in this role, you must be proactive and compassionate, have a great eye for detail, excellent organisational skills and strong communication skills. You must be passionate and sensitive about effecting change, and empowering patients, families and carers. This is a new post; therefore, although having clear parameters and expectations, there will be opportunities to shape and influence the role and build and develop important relationships with stakeholders and partners.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>This is a patient-facing role based within the Forensic units. he Family and Carer Ambassador will work directly with patients, their families, and carers, providing a visible and approachable presence on the ward. The role focuses on supporting meaningful engagement, promoting collaborative relationships, and ensuring that the voices of families and carers are heard and included in care discussions and recovery planning.</p>  <p>The post holder will be a core member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), working closely alongside nurses, doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, peer support workers, and other ward staff. They will contribute to daily discussions, care planning, and discharge processes, ensuring that the experiences, views, and needs of families and carers are represented and integrated into care delivery.</p>

  <p>This is a part time post working 22.5 hours per week for a fixed term of 12 months based at the Stonebow Unit, Hereford. We would consider less hours for the successful candidate but would have to be a
minimum of 15 hours. The salary quoted is pro rata for part time hours.</p><p>We are looking for a motivated individual with lived experience to support our current quality improvement programme on our older adult mental health inpatient wards. The post will be funded via the Royal College of Psychiatry`s Culture of Care Programme.</p><p>This programme aims to improve the culture of inpatient mental health, learning disability and autism for patients and staff so that they are safe, therapeutic and equitable places to be cared for, and fulfilling places to work.</p><p>Integrated Lived Experience takes the form of true co-production, the role focusses on creating a supportive and compassionate atmosphere for both staff and patients. There is an emphasis on developing change ideas in line with the programme alongside the wider MDT and core project team.</p><p>We can offer flexible working and will be supporting the successful applicant with training whilst in post.</p><p>The post is fixed term due to time
limited nature of the funding which will end in
12 months. We reserve the right to

  <p>The successful candidate would work within the Acute Medicine and Stroke SLT team at QEHB serving a diverse clinical caseload. You would work closely with the SLT Team Leaders, Specialist SLTs, Band 5 SLTs and Band 4 peers to provide an excellent level of care to our patient group. The role is permanent is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Edgbaston Birmingham.</p><p>The successful candidate would assist and support the work of the Speech and Language Therapy service to patients in hospital with swallowing and communication needs including aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, cognitive-communication changes and dysphonia. This will include the provision of communication and swallowing therapy, assisting at mealtimes, completing dysphagia screening tests (DST), completing referrals and liaising with patients, families, carers and the MDT.</p><p>The post holder will work closely members with of the multidisciplinary team at the QEHB with particular emphasis of close working relationships with the occupational therapy, physiotherapy team, dietetic team and nursing/medical teams as well as with carers and voluntary organisations.</p><p>We have a large team who share a caseload of diverse patient cohorts so being a team player is essential. <p>We are a county wide service with a base currently in Truro. However, due to expansion we are seeking an additional base in the east of the county. It is expected that you will work in either the west or the east of the county with a base that is near to your geographical work/home area.</p>
<p>The team consists of qualified and trainee nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, nursery nurses, a health visitor, psychologists, psychiatrist, administration, and peer support workers led by a dedicated service lead, supported by two deputies. The team work collaboratively to support recovery and improving bonds with baby in the crucial first 1001 days.</p>

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>The successful applicant will be joining the service during an exciting period of service development and transformation. They will receive clinical supervision from a senior Psychologist (with BABCP Accreditation if required) and will work closely with AEDS psychological therapies team.</p> <p>The post holder will be responsible for providing or contributing to the clinical supervision of Trainee Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists; this is, with support and, where applicable, training to assist in the development of these supervision skills.</p> <p>The post holder will be expected to carry out comprehensive assessments and formulations and plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of their psychological interventions (individual and group). They will additionally be required to contribute to the work and functioning of the multi-disciplinary team, where appropriate.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p> To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care. To maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Trust Policies and Procedures. To act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005). To be aware of and implement Safeguarding Adult and Child Protection Policies, Procedures and legislation. </p> <p> To carry out comprehensive psychological assessments (and cognitive assessments for psychologists) and formulation, plan implement and evaluate delivery of psychology interventions and consultations to support people with specific needs. </p> <p> To actively involve people in developing and agreeing their own care plan, to act as an advocate and ensure that there is proper regard for their dignity, choice, self-esteem, racial, cultural, sexual and religious needs and preferences.</p> <p> To work creatively to adapt verbal and written communication to meet the needs of people who use our services</p> <p> To undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk management plans.</p> <p> To establish and maintain effective partnerships and relationships with colleagues, other agencies, people who use services and their carers and support staff.</p> <p>For more information, see the job description.</p>
