Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.

 <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
 <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
 <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
 <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
 <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>
 <li>Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, and are recognised by the BACP and UKCP.</li>
 <li>A placement is an excellent stepping stone into a job opportunity and career with Place2Be, over&nbsp;⅔&nbsp;of our clinical staff were once Counsellors on Placement.</li>
 <li>We have places available in our projects in both primary and secondary schools nationwide.</li>

All clinical hours gained on placement can be used towards accreditation with a body such as BACP and UKCP. Place2Be is seeking a talented and experienced Graphic Designer to join our Marketing and Communications team. This is a key role in helping us communicate our impact and services through compelling visual content across print, web, social media, and video. We’re looking for a creative self-starter who can confidently take ownership of projects, working independently to deliver high-quality designs that align with given briefs and our brand identity. 
You’ll be responsible for transforming given briefs into accessible and engaging visuals, managing digital assets, and ensuring all content meets our standards for accessibility and inclusion. You will also be responsible for designing impact reports and social media graphics that is vital to bringing our mission to life. 
Key Responsibilities
<ul type="disc">
 <li>Design engaging graphics for web, email, social media, and print (e.g. impact reports, magazines, flyers, posters).</li>
 <li>Edit professional video content that highlights our work.</li>
 <li>Lead photoshoots and manage all visual assets, ensuring proper consent and storage.</li>
 <li>Collaborate with teams across the organisation to interpret briefs and deliver creative solutions—often to tight deadlines.</li>
 <li>Maintain brand consistency and accessibility across all visual outputs.</li>
 <li>Ensure all assets reflect our commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.</li>
 <li>Build relationships with external partners to ensure quality and value for money.</li>

What we’re looking for:

By making our services freely available, our aim is for all people with cancer to be able to access the high-quality support they need. Penny Brohn UK have been working in partnership with GenesisCare UK, a private healthcare company, since 2013. We deliver an integrated cancer care approach which includes complementary treatment support and lifestyle advice for patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy at all of their 14 centres across the UK. For over 40 years, Penny Brohn UK has supported people with cancer to feel more physically and emotionally able to manage the impacts of their diagnosis and treatment, be more in control of their choices and have the best quality of life possible. The role This is an exciting opportunity to join our existing team of counsellors working remotely to support cancer patients being treated in the 14 GenesisCare centres across England. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective rapport and deliver therapeutic interventions via telephone or video link. We are looking for a professional who can work in a flexible, intelligent, and creative way. Candidates should have experience of working as a counsellor within the NHS, charity sector or private practice, and have knowledge, experience/understanding of how cancer treatment can affect a patient s health and wellbeing.
