  <p>Job Type - Full time 37.5 hours, 5 days per week, fixed term training position for 1 year. </p>  <p>We are a well-established Talking Therapies Service looking for enthusiastic High Intensity Trainees to join our friendly team. </p> <p>This is an excellent, but demanding course and candidates are expected to complete all its requirements within 12 months of starting the training. The post involves providing psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions for people with common mental health problems.</p> <p>Please note that we cannot accept applicants without the necessary experience of working in a mental health setting. Experience of working in primary mental health and especially NHS Talking Therapies is desirable.</p> <p>In order to be considered from a PWP background, candidates must have been qualified as a PWP for more than two years by the course start date in order to meet national guidance. It is desirable for candidates from a PWP background to have accreditation from the BPS or BABCP.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p> This intensive training post will equip the post holder to provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) assessments and NICE-recommended CBT treatment to people presenting with moderate to severe depression and anxiety for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. Trainee High Intensity Therapist

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>This role offers a rare and exciting opportunity to be part of the radiotherapy/proton beam therapy review team at UCLH. The post holder will undertake rotations between the photon and proton departments. The role involves working and leading within the Radiotherapy Review Team; reviewing patients during their treatment and supporting them both physically and psychologically throughout their radiotherapy journey. They will be required to ensure there is an appropriate plan for the on-treatment review of each patient and a mechanism of communication to the wider MDT. The post holder will play a key role in helping patients understand the treatment process, toxicity and likely side effects of radiotherapy, along with providing them with advice on how to self-care and manage their symptoms appropriately. Any proton beam therapy or photon beam thearpy training required relating to managing side effects of this treatment and other required underpinning knowledge will be provided. Training for on treatment review and independent/supplementary prescribing if required will be supported.The photon department is equipped with Varian TrueBeam systems and a Halcyon with advanced imaging packages and 6DoF couches. The department has a comprehensive brachytherapy suite and a Gulmay skin unit. UCLH is one of only two NHS sites delivering proton beam therapy across the NHS.</p>

  <p>To work with Review Radiographers, Radiotherapy Sisters, Charge Nurses and Staff Nurses, leading as part of the review team.To review patient's during their course of photon or proton treatment and to support them both physically and psychologically throughout their treatment.To ensure there is an appropriate plan for the on-treatment review of each patient and a mechanism of communication of untoward effectsTo lead on service evaluations, audits and projects under a quality improvement framework within the scope of the Review TeamTo leave in teaching, development and appraisal of members of the Review TeamTo help patients understand the treatment process, toxicity and likely side effects of radiotherapy both during and after treatment. Patients should be encouraged to report side effects and advised how to manage symptoms appropriately.To ensure patients' side effects are treated appropriately and efficiently.To give verbal and written information if required.To enable them to discuss any concerns they may have and to feel supported during their treatment.To refer patients as necessary to other health care professionals e.g. dieticians, counsellors etc. and community agencies as needed.To ensure that appropriate follow up arrangements are made and continuity of care communicated to the patient and any other appropriate health care profession. </p>

<p><strong>We are looking for a person who is passionate about providing excellent care to the adult acute mental health population, and who want to contribute to the therapeutic input provided for people using our services at our site in Radlett.</strong></p>
<p>The Recreational Worker organises and provides a predominantly ward-based recreational/leisure service, based on the adult acute mental health wards.</p>
<p>The activities they facilitate occur alongside therapeutic interventions from the Occupational Therapy service, Psychology, Arts therapies and the ward Nursing Team to enhance a service user's stay in hospital.</p>
<p>The recreational service is provided during afternoons, evenings, weekends and bank holidays</p>

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <ul>  <li>You will organise and provide a predominantly ward-basedrecreational/leisure servicesuch as gardening groups, craft sessions, music activities, sports/active sessions, facilitating gym sessions, games, etc.</li>  <li>You will be based on the adult acute mental health wards where service users require support for a range of diagnoses such as psychosis, depression, or anxiety.</li>  <li>The recreational service is provided during afternoons, evenings and weekends and so the role requires working in the early evenings until 8pm and on the weekends 9 -5.</li>  <li>The team consists of a Lead and Head Occupational Therapist, Band 6 and 5 Occupational Therapists, Assistant Therapy Practitioners, and a Horticultural Therapist.
