			Are you an experienced Psychologist looking to take the next step in your career?&nbsp;This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a&nbsp;multi-disciplinary psychological therapies team which covers both male and female adult acute inpatient wards (23 beds in total) at Potters Bar Clinic.
You&nbsp;will provide a clinical service of specialist psychology assessments and interventions to a number of adult service users with&nbsp;acute mental health needs&nbsp;on the ward. You will also provide a specialist clinical perspective in relation to other service users with whom you might not be directly involved. Potters Bar uses a formulation driven and trauma informed model of care.
Reporting directly to the Lead Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.
As a Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user’s caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.&nbsp;&nbsp;

As a Psychologist you will be:
<ul>
 <li>Working autonomously to provide a specialist psychology service to patients as agreed by Consultant Psychiatrist, Therapies Lead, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and in discussion with wider MDT.</li>
 <li>Undertaking specialist assessments.</li>
 <li>Providing specialist interventions according to formulations based on an appropriate conceptual framework, NICE guidelines, evidence from research, and in accordance with the wider MDT formulation and interventions.</li>
 <li>Be involved in running therapeutic groups on the ward as agreed.</li>
 <li>Continually monitor risk of all patients for whom there is direct contact, or regarding which the post holder receives relevant information, ensure acute risk is managed, liaise with MDT (and in particular responsible psychiatrist) regarding risk, and update electronic record including risk assessment as required.</li>
 <li>Ensuring that all clinical work is adequately recoded in the electronic patient record.</li>
 <li>Attending ward rounds (and other MDT meetings), case conferences, CPAs as required, and provide reports in advance for these in accordance with local procedures.</li>
 <li>Preparing clinical; reports as required, e.g. assessment reports, discharge summaries.</li>
 <li>Liaising with internal and external colleagues as required</li>
 <li>Completing all recording and reporting tasks associated with clinical work.</li>
</ul>
&nbsp;To be successful in this role, you'll need:

 <li>Have BPS recognised psychology degrees</li>
 <li>Be HCPC registered</li>
 <li>Have understanding of evidence-based psychological practice</li>

Programme Admin Assistant

<h3>We offer honorary clinical placements to trainees from Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy courses, and those from Integrative courses (Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology) with a strong interest in Psychoanalysis/Psychodynamic therapies.</h3>Each application will be considered on an individual basis, our selection will focus on:<ul><li>Your attendance at a recognised clinical training in Counselling, Counselling Psychology, Psychotherapy, or Psychoanalysis.</li><li>Your self-development and level of self-awareness through your own personal therapy and training.</li><li>Some experience of one to one counselling work with clients in an organisational setting or other relevant experience</li></ul><h3>What we ask for</h3><ul><li>Minimum two year commitment for clinical work</li><li>Holding a case load of a minimum of 3 clients per year</li><li>Regular attendance to HCC supervision and additional supervision through your course or privately</li><li>Commitment to your own personal and professional development</li><li>Attending HCC activities, e.g. quarterly team meetings, in-house clinical seminars, and annual Away Day</li><li>Maintaining professional conduct in all your dealings with HCC clients and staff</li></ul><h3>What we offer</h3><ul><li>A conducive environment that will support you in your learning and development as a psychotherapist</li><li>An opportunity to practice in a psychoanalytically informed service, working with clients on longer-term contracts of one year (with possibility to extend in some cases)</li><li>High-quality group supervision by experienced Psychodynamic Psychotherapists and Psychoanalysts.
