<p>Due to the current post holder relocating, an opportunity has arisen in CAMHS, for a band 8a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join our specialist multi-disciplinary team. AWP CAMHS has a well-developed and highly experienced child and adolescent psychotherapy service including Professional Lead who is committed to ensuring all psychotherapists have excellent CPD opportunities and supervision and reflective space. </p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You will have relevant core professional qualification and professional body registration. You will be based at Barton Hill Settlement.</p> <p>You will provide a psychotherapy assessment and treatment service and other forms of assessment and treatment in conjunction with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. This will involve complex assessment of family situations, including high risk (e.g. deliberate self-harm) and recommendations for appropriate treatment interventions from the range of options available. This work will take place in specialist community CAMHS clinics.</p> <p>Ensure that appropriate liaison with other professionals and outside agencies in relation to cases of a more complex nature is undertaken.</p> <p>Contribute to the general clinical work of the multi-disciplinary team.</p> <p>To contribute and be part of CAPA (choice and Partnership) appointment system.</p>

  <p>This is a truly exciting time as we change what we do and how we deliver community mental health services. This newly integrated CMH team is developing a pathway for people with psychosis and an enhanced pathway for people with psychosis where meaningful engagement can be a challenge. You will work closely with senior colleagues across our teams and localities on team and service development whilst providing psychological interventions to people with greatest complexity. </p> <p>We want you to feel supported within your role and we are keen see our psychologists flourish and develop with training in Family Interventions (BFT), CBT for Psychosis (CBTp) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for example. We also have access to the Bespoke training platform and an excellent psychological skills development team.</p>

  <p>The Tamarind Centre is seeking a fixed term maternity cover for an 8B Practitioner Psychologist to join its psychology department. This is a strong developmental opportunity, ideal for an experienced 8A looking to progress or an 8B psychologist curious about moving into forensic work.</p> <p>The post sits within our personality focused recovery service, a specialist ward for men with complex histories of violence, trauma, and interpersonal conflict. We are looking for someone with experience delivering therapeutic work to individuals, groups, and across systems. While expertise in MBT, DBT, or forensic psychodynamic psychotherapy is welcomed, it is not essential. An interest in adapting therapies for men at high risk of violence is especially valued.</p> <p>Tamarind is an 89 bed medium secure unit supporting men with enduring mental health needs and histories of violence. Our psychology team values openness, authenticity, and psychological safety. We prioritise cohesion over conformity and invite you to help us grow. Our work lives in the balance between care and containment, acknowledging trauma and structural inequality while avoiding binary thinking. Evidence based practice is essential, but we aim to adapt it compassionately and meaningfully.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Beyond therapy, we are committed to co-production and service user involvement. Recent work includes culturally informed mental health groups, co-designed trauma training, and projects with carers to hold the service accountable. As Principal Psychologist, you will help lead this work, shaping trauma informed care as a cultural shift across the unit and wider Division. Leadership here is seen not as a title but as a shared, evolving process. Support comes from colleagues across disciplines, including community partners.</p>
<p>Working in a forensic NHS setting comes with complexity. Cultural narratives around men, violence, and mental illness can distort the work. We create space, formally and informally, to reflect on power and help staff and service users recognise and celebrate small but meaningful progress.</p>
