			If you’re a Speciality Doctor looking for a new opportunity to join a friendly multidisciplinary team in an established secure service setting, then come and work at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose built 101 bed hospital in the Southwest for men and women with mental health needs.
This a 6-month post covering a period of maternity leave.
There will be great learning opportunities as you work with the multi-disciplinary team, which is comprised of consultant psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, nursing, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, social workers, forensic psychotherapist, positive behaviour support practitioner, physical health team, visiting GP every week, and practice nurse.
This established service looks to continually innovate, improve and deliver excellent care for its service users, has an active programme of education and research and provides significant developmental opportunities for its staff.
As an Associate Specialist, you will be:
<ul type="disc">
 <li>Reviewing the mental state of patients as per the hospital procedure.</li>
 <li>Ensuring an adequate handover to colleagues including out of hours.</li>
 <li>Ensuring that each patient has a full physical health screen upon admission including physical examination, ECG and bloods (the hospital has some phlebotomists). 
 </li>
 <li>Taking a lead with managing any physical health concerns that emerge during inpatient stay. 
 </li>
 <li>Seeking collateral history from other professionals and family. 
 </li>
 <li>Completing discharge letters and reports as required in a timely manner. 
 </li>
 <li>Depending on your experience, providing oral evidence at First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings under the supervision of Consultant. 
 </li>
 <li>Contributing to the service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities by conducting audits, research and teaching. 
 </li>
 <li>Work effectively with colleagues to ensure that patients have access to appropriate medical cover at all times. 
 </li>
 <li>Providing prospective cover to other specialty doctors when they are on leave.</li>
</ul>
 

To be successful in this role, you'll need:
<ul>
 <li>Full GMC registration</li>
 <li>Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams</li>
 <li>To be in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists</li>
 <li>To have had an appraisal/RITA within the last year</li>
 <li>Ideally at least 3 years' experience in Psychiatry</li>
 <li>Experience working as a doctor within a similar environment</li>

You will shadow experienced team members and then be observed providing advocacy to those who are eligible for our services until you are able to pick up a caseload of your own. Although your focus will be on one particular remit of advocacy, you will receive training across the different remits of advocacy, instructed and non-instructed advocacy and safeguarding and be supported to develop a thorough understanding of the role and boundaries of advocacy. The role involves acting on the instruction of the people you support, empowering them to have a say in their situation, to understand their rights and any options open to them and supporting them towards self-advocacy. When providing non-instructed advocacy, you will ensure that the unique preferences and views of the person are taken into consideration in any decisions made by care providers.As a qualified and / or experienced independent advocate, you will provide statutory and / or non-statutory independent advocacy to those who are eligible for the service within the community or care settings. Living Well Peer Support Worker

We are currently hiring a Stepdown Recovery Officer&nbsp;to join our inspiring and friendly Brent Stepdown Service.This is a Fixed Term Contract Role ending 30th September 2025, working 35 hours per week.&nbsp;The Stepdown recovery officer will identify early identification of factors that would potentially delay timely discharge and impact on provision of appropriate aftercare. They will liaise with housing and local authorities around discharge and facilitation of housing assessments.
