  <p>We have a exciting vacancy that has arisen for an early career Clinical or Counselling Psychologist within our Integrated Community Care and Recovery (ICCR) Services working in the Enhanced Team for Personality Disorders. The team is psychologically informed and led, working relationally to support and foster a trauma informed ethos within the trust. The team supports individuals who experience intense emotional distress which may lead to frequent crises and inpatient admissions, offering longer term psychological intervention where required. We are passionate about reducing the stigma associated with personality disorder.</p>
<p>This is an ideal post to apply your full range of psychological skills and knowledge including consultation, training, supervision, service development, leadership and research in addition to direct clinical work. A large proportion of the work is indirect, supporting professionals, teams, services and systems to work better with individuals who have received a diagnosis of personality disorder.</p>
<p>We are looking for a suitably experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologists. Based on experience, this post can either be offered at a Band 8a or a Band 7/ 8a Preceptorship arrangement.</p>
<p>We would welcome applications from those looking to build upon their clinical skills who are keen to develop specialisms and greater leadership roles to make a difference in the community.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and skilled practitioner psychologist who can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, to provide a range of clinical services. The individual will have excellent opportunities to gain experience of multilevel and integrated service provision and to further develop skills of complex case assessment, formulation and the application of evidence based psychological interventions. You should have experience of working with service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs; additionally to be familiar with the needs of a diverse BAME community and working in areas of high socioeconomic deprivation.</p>

  <p>This is a truly exciting time as we change what we do and how we deliver community mental health services. This newly integrated CMH team is developing a pathway for people with psychosis and an enhanced pathway for people with psychosis where meaningful engagement can be a challenge. You will work closely with senior colleagues across our teams and localities on team and service development whilst providing psychological interventions to people with greatest complexity. </p> <p>We want you to feel supported within your role and we are keen see our psychologists flourish and develop with training in Family Interventions (BFT), CBT for Psychosis (CBTp) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for example.   <p>The Tamarind Centre is seeking a fixed term maternity cover for an 8B Practitioner Psychologist to join its psychology department. This is a strong developmental opportunity, ideal for an experienced 8A looking to progress or an 8B psychologist curious about moving into forensic work.</p> <p>The post sits within our personality focused recovery service, a specialist ward for men with complex histories of violence, trauma, and interpersonal conflict. We are looking for someone with experience delivering therapeutic work to individuals, groups, and across systems. While expertise in MBT, DBT, or forensic psychodynamic psychotherapy is welcomed, it is not essential. An interest in adapting therapies for men at high risk of violence is especially valued.</p> <p>Tamarind is an 89 bed medium secure unit supporting men with enduring mental health needs and histories of violence. Our psychology team values openness, authenticity, and psychological safety. We prioritise cohesion over conformity and invite you to help us grow. Our work lives in the balance between care and containment, acknowledging trauma and structural inequality while avoiding binary thinking. Evidence based practice is essential, but we aim to adapt it compassionately and meaningfully.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Beyond therapy, we are committed to co-production and service user involvement. Recent work includes culturally informed mental health groups, co-designed trauma training, and projects with carers to hold the service accountable. As Principal Psychologist, you will help lead this work, shaping trauma informed care as a cultural shift across the unit and wider Division. Leadership here is seen not as a title but as a shared, evolving process. Support comes from colleagues across disciplines, including community partners.</p>

  <p>You are someone who cares deeply about the wellbeing of children and young people and you want to use your professional skills to make schools places where every pupil can feel safe, supported and able to thrive.</p> <p>To succeed in this role, you will bring:</p> <ul> <li>A <strong>core professional qualification</strong> (for example EMHP, CWP, PMHW, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy)</li> <li>At least <strong>2 years experience of working therapeutically</strong> with children and young people</li> <li>Confidence in <strong>risk assessment and safeguarding practice</strong></li> <li>Experience of providing <strong>clinical supervision or staff support</strong></li> <li>Skills in engaging with families and carers to build strong relationships</li> <li>The ability to <strong>lead, delegate and adapt</strong> when priorities change</li> <li>Proficiency in IT and commitment to <strong>evidence based practice and data collection</strong></li> <li><strong>Excellent communication skills</strong> and the ability to connect with children and young people</li> <li>A <strong>full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle</strong></li> </ul> <p>It would also be great if you have experience of working in schools or community settings, delivering CBT informed supervision, or have completed a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
