  <p><strong>Band 6 Specialist Psychological Practitioner (2-year fixed term position) at Ardenleigh Women's Secure Blended Service - includes working at our step-down accommodation based at Balsall Heath</strong></p> <p>An exciting job opportunity has arisen to recruit a Specialist Psychological Practitioner to join our established psychology team to support the delivery of a 2-year pilot, community step-down accommodation for women being discharged from secure care. This pilot aims to extend the inpatient treatment model into a community residential setting to promote recovery beyond discharge, supporting timelier discharges and reducing the need for future admission. The role will provide opportunities for both inpatient and community work, and to be involved in service innovation.</p> <p>Clinically the role will involve working with women presenting with complex trauma, personality disorder and mental illness, both directly through the provision of specialist psychological interventions and indirectly through supervision, reflective practice, consultation and training. In relation to the pilot step-down accommodation, you would contribute significantly to the development of the psychological pathway and evaluation of this. Working across both the rehabilitation ward and the step-down accommodation, the post holder will have the opportunity to develop strong therapeutic relationships with services users, providing relational security as they take the next step in their recovery journey.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The role will involve working within the WSBS at Ardenleigh and at our step-down accommodation at Balsall Heath and, as such, there will be an expectation to travel between sites across the week. You will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team under the supervision of a registered clinical/forensic psychologist. In your role you will provide psychological support for service users transitioning from inpatient care to community integration. The post holder will support the direct assessment, formulation, and delivery of a range of individual and group interventions addressing emotional, behavioural, and relational factors to improve service user' recovery and wellbeing.</p> <p>We are looking for people from a range of diverse backgrounds with an interest in working with, supporting, and enhancing the lives of people who have experienced adverse life experiences, including trauma and neglect, and have a history of offending behaviour. This post is best suited to a professional with a background in teaching, counselling, social work, family work or nursing, who has some prior training and experience of delivering psychological interventions. Prior experience of providing support or supervision to a staff group would also be desirable. Due to the MDT working involved, you will also require good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.</p>

  <p>The Birmingham &amp; Solihull Health and Justice Vulnerability Service (HJVS) is a nationally recognised and multi-award winning team, established sites leading to a widespread radical change in service delivery across England.</p>
<p>Working primarily within adult outreach team, this role will mean working within the community as well as from Custody Suites around Birmingham, Birmingham Magistrates and Crown Courts and a variety of trust sites.</p>
<p>We are looking for a versatile and motivated STR worker to join us to deliver a service to vulnerable individuals who are often the most marginalised within society.</p>
<p>STRs are a key part of the Health and Justice Vulnerability Service, as they assist clients who are typically hard to engage, building trust and a rapport to gain a holistic understanding of their circumstances and how to improve them. They assist service users to access support, providing individualised support with solving practical problems or difficulties that may be affecting their health and wellbeing. They can also provide help and advise on housing, social isolation and exclusion, education, debt management and employment issues.</p>
<p>You will need to be an excellent communicator, resourceful and creative in overcoming potential challenges for your service users and able to demonstrate resilience as you proactively support your service users and liaise with partner agencies.</p>

   <p>The adult acute Speech and Language Therapy service at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is excited to recruit a band 6 specialist into our service. We have recently undergone large scale transformational change following our move into the state of the art Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) in 2024 and wish to welcome an additional team member into our hospital service.</p>  <p>Our inpatient Speech and Language Therapy team are a welcoming and aspirational group of therapists with a clear vision and strong commitment to improving the lives of local people.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
   <p>We are looking for an individual who is able to work independently with a range of communication and swallowing presentations and can use highly developed interpersonal skills to establish strong relationships with a range of individuals and MDTs.</p> <p>We offer three band 6 acute hospital rotations at MMUH. Successful candidates will experience all rotations within each annual appraisal cycle; allowing for broad based experiences whilst developing more advanced clinical skills. Our core rotations are in medicine and frailty, ICU/surgery/respiratory and front door emergency care.</p> <p>Our team is committed to supporting each individual team member's training and development and we ask for candidates who are equally motivated to then support others; mentoring SLT staff and other support staff within the service as well as helping us to grow our student placement provision.</p> <p>Our service works over 7 days a week and post holders are required to engage in our weekend working hospital roster.</p> <p>You will be required to:</p> <p>To independently assess, diagnose and manage a range of disorders ofcommunication and swallowing as part of the medical and surgical inpatient, acute SLT service.</p> <p>To work independently with patients with often sensitive and complex presentations, actively seeking support and supervision as required.</p> <p>Development skills in instrumental assessment procedures such as; endoscopic examination of swallowing (FEES) or videofluoroscopy(VFS)</p>

  <p>The Tamarind Centre is seeking a fixed term maternity cover for an 8B Practitioner Psychologist to join its psychology department. This is a strong developmental opportunity, ideal for an experienced 8A looking to progress or an 8B psychologist curious about moving into forensic work.</p> <p>The post sits within our personality focused recovery service, a specialist ward for men with complex histories of violence, trauma, and interpersonal conflict. We are looking for someone with experience delivering therapeutic work to individuals, groups, and across systems. While expertise in MBT, DBT, or forensic psychodynamic psychotherapy is welcomed, it is not essential. An interest in adapting therapies for men at high risk of violence is especially valued.</p> <p>Tamarind is an 89 bed medium secure unit supporting men with enduring mental health needs and histories of violence. Our psychology team values openness, authenticity, and psychological safety. We prioritise cohesion over conformity and invite you to help us grow. Our work lives in the balance between care and containment, acknowledging trauma and structural inequality while avoiding binary thinking. Evidence based practice is essential, but we aim to adapt it compassionately and meaningfully.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
