<p>You will be joining the TEDS team within Marlborough CAMHS, a service which is committed to adapting to meet diverse and challenging demands and to maintaining high quality specialist assessment and intervention whilst being mindful of throughput, innovation and efficiencies.</p>
<p>The service is designed to provide young people and families with expert help and you will have a particular focus around providing psychology input into our Specialist Eating Disorder Service (TEDS).</p>

<p>The successful candidate will undertake general and specialist analysis of samples received in Blood Sciences, on a rotational basis throughout all sections of Haematology and Blood Transfusion.</p>
<p>These procedures include the analysis and interpretation of complex results which ultimately leads to the production of a laboratory report, which may impact directly on patient care. You are responsible for informing a Consultant Haematologist of any result that may need immediate clinical action.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Biomedical Scientists (BMSs) contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing and interpreting a range of scientific procedures on biological specimens using highly complex equipment.</p>
<p>This post operates throughout Haematology and Blood Transfusion, in conjunction with the Biomedical Support Workers. The laboratory is fully UKAS ISO 15189 Accredited and is also an accredited site for HCPC Certificate of Competence and IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Chemistry Training. The department has state of the art equipment with a refresh of major analysers in 2019.  </p>
<p>We have Sysmex with Di60 for FBC and Films, Werfen for coagulation and Ortho in Blood Transfusion  In 2021 we have installed and gone live with a comprehensive Kelsius Temperature Monitoring System.  Early in 2022 we expect to take on a full complement of new Microscopes.  Ordercomms is now established for Hospital and GP Users and the laboratory and a major IT upgrade to Winpath Enterprise is underway for implementation in 2022.</p>

<p>Thornford Park Hospital, part of Elysium Healthcare, is an independent 143 bedded hospital set in 23 acres of parkland on the outskirts of Newbury, Berkshire (close to the Hampshire borders).</p>
<p>We provide services for male and female patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) who require care in conditions of medium and low security. Our service users, many of whom have forensic histories, require long-term treatment and rehabilitation and present with multiple problems, challenging and high-risk behaviour and complex care needs. In addition to the mental health wards, Thornford Park has a 14-bedded low secure service for male patients with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, commissioned by NHS England, a medium/low secure service for females with a Learning Disability, and a medium secure service for males with Learning Disability. We also have two Psychiatric Intensive Care Units, one for males and one for females, providing holistic assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing crisis.</p>

As A Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist, you will be leading the Clinical Team input in one of the three localities, leading a team composed by a family therapist and a psychological practioner. You will be supported by 2 other 8b Clinical Psychologists who lead the other localities as well as by the whole if the Clinical Team which operates united, independent of the areas people are allocated to work. The Clinical Team has a strong team culture and team members are very supportive of each other. Our primary aim is to support children, parents and families to address issues which might contribute to family breakdown and whenever possible support families to remain together.</p> <p>This role offers you extensive opportunity to develop your clinical skills by working with a varied range of needs and experiences, including working with families, children, and young people across a broad age range, and supporting staff teams.
