Join the team at Farmfield Hospital in Charlwood, Surrey as a 0.6FTE&nbsp;Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist.&nbsp;
You will be providing strategic leadership and expert psychiatric leadership and clinical oversight within forensic mental health services, acting as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act and delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care to individuals involved with the criminal justice system.
As a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, you will take on RC responsibility for male service users on our medium secure wards. The RC will have the support of a non-consultant grade doctor as well as secretarial support.
Where you will be working:
Farmfield Hospital is a 64-bed secure unit with both MSU and LSU wards for male patients. The hospital is purpose built and run by the highly experienced Elysium Healthcare group. The hospital is in the beautiful county of Surrey and has excellent transport links to London and Brighton. Gatwick airport is practically next door!
Working with an established multi-professional team, you will deliver individualised care and have access to a large and supportive peer group of like-minded professionals.
Your responsibilities will include:

 <li>Ensure the adequate working of the Care Programme Approach (CPA) for patients.</li>
 <li>Work constructively with other multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure good patient care and throughput.</li>
 <li>If needed escalate to the Medical Director or Regional Directors any concerns, in relation to the medical staff, within the region. </li>
 <li>Provide clinical leadership to clinical teams including through effective teambuilding and facilitation.</li>

			Do you want to work in a friendly, committed, acute inpatient service where your knowledge, experience and skills will be valued? If so, join Dunnock View as an Associate Specialist, where you will be providing treatment to men and women who have mental health needs.&nbsp; 
With the support of a Consultant Psychiatrist and Lead Consultant Psychiatrist you will provide clinical assessment. You will support the consultant in the assessment of patients referred to the service and will be expected to complete regular mental state reviews, as well as monitoring for side effects of medication. 
As an Associate Specialist, you will ensure the high quality first-line medical care of our inpatients, liaise effectively with external professionals and carers, provide written and oral evidence for Hospital Managers’ and Tribunal hearings, work towards safe discharges, and be a valued and effective member of the multidisciplinary team at Dunnock View.&nbsp;
You will also ensure an adequate handover to colleagues including out of hours, seek collateral history from other professionals and family, and complete discharge letters/reports/s62 forms as required.
 
Other Responsibilities include:

 <li>Preparing First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearing reports under the supervision of Consultant.</li>
 <li>Provide medical reports and attend CPA meetings to review care of patients with NHS England case managers and community care co-ordinators</li>
 <li>Providing oral evidence at First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings under the supervision of the Consultant (Depending on your experience).</li>

A qualified therapist/ counsellor, you’ve been working in the profession for at least a year, and now it’s time to take the next step.&nbsp; As a Place2Be Supervising Counsellor&nbsp;your main focus is assessment and formulation of referrals and supporting and overseeing the work of the Counsellors on Placement enabling them to deliver interventions across all year groups and achieve the best outcomes for the young people we support. You’ll still deliver some therapeutic work with children yourself, including some group/whole class work, but ultimately, you’ll be shaping clinical delivery of services within the school you operate.
