  <p>ARCH (Addictions Recovery Centre Hillingdon) is well established partnership service between CNWL and Via. We provide structured treatment and support for people with drug and alcohol difficulties.</p> <p>We have three upcoming Assistant Psychologist roles in ARCH which will cover the core service, the Recovery Day Programme (RDP) and the Rough Sleeper's team. The start date for each of these posts will be staggered between November 2025 and January 2026.</p> <p>To enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service, across all sectors of care; providing data collection, data analysis, and assessment under the management and supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. </p> <p>To participate in clinical governance and utilise research skills for audit, service development and research within the area served by the multi-disciplinary Drug and Alcohol team.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p><strong>Clinical</strong></p>
<p>To undertake Psychosocial Inventions and Workshops of clients referred to the Drug and Alcohol Service. This may include using motivational interviewing techniques, self-report measures, risk assessment, rating scales, direct and indirect observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care. Providing evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT to help people overcome their addiction).</p>
<p>To work in a highly emotive atmosphere with clients with substance use problems on a regular basis, and be able to communicate sensitive and complex information, whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism at all times. May be subject to verbal aggression in individual sessions.</p>
<p>To assist in the co-ordination and running of therapeutic groups, under the supervision of a qualified member of staff.</p>
<p>Duty assessments in ARCH may require testing of bodily fluids, and therefore direct contact with urine and / or saliva.</p>
<p><strong>Management, recruitment and service development</strong></p>
<p>To assist in the design and implementation of service development projects within the service as required.</p>
<p>To attend meetings in which service developments are planned and discussed.</p>
<p>The post holder will be required to attend and contribute, where appropriate, to the regular professional meetings of the Adult Psychology Specialty and other Departmental meetings.</p>

As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.</p>

    <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
    <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
    <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
    <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
    <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>

Systemic Family Practice (SFP) Supervisor Trainee

<p>Croydon Drop In (CDI) are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Student Volunteer Counsellors on Placement to work within our award-winning Voluntary Sector services. The post-holder will work within our safeguarding protocols to provide safe interventions for children and young people using evidence-based methodologies. The post holder will safely work with people across different cultural backgrounds and ages and will be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.<br>
Our team is supported by student practitioners completing their final year of their practitioner studies.</p>
<p><strong>Please note:</strong></p>
<p>Counselling training providers usually require you to obtain a certain amount of client contact hours with adults i.e. 18 years plus, therefore it’s important to note that the majority of clients accessing our CDI counselling services are under 18 years of age. As a student placement provider, CDI makes for an ideal 2nd placement that will ensure you have adequate young people contact hours, largely under 18 years of age, providing you with the learning experiences you need to meet the competency requirements of your training course and provider. It is important to check with your training provider, the cap on the number of under 18 years of age clients permitted for your course.</p>
