  <p><strong>Bromley Y</strong> seeks highly motivated and
enthusiastic mental health practitioners to work and train within our service. This
is an exciting opportunity for a
Trainee (CBT) to join our team as part of the NHS England (NHSE) funded
Children and Young People (CYP) Psychological Training Programmes. </p><p>We are
looking for applicants who are knowledgeable and passionate about Bromley. The training post will equip the post-holder to provide evidenced
based interventions for children, young people or families (parents/carers)
using CBT. The post holder will work
with people from various cultural backgrounds, ages and ability, using
interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equity, diversity and
inclusion.

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The CYP
Psychological Therapies training programme is a government-funded initiative
aiming to grow the child mental health workforce to meet much needed demand. To
help reach this goal, NHSE covers salary and training costs for a 1-year post,
allowing services to employ trainees to help implement new &amp; expand
existing specialist pathways to bridge the gaps in CYP mental health support. This is a unique opportunity to apply your
learning from weekly teaching into practical clinical interventions, working
with clients in the service making a direct impact in the lives of children,
young people and their families (parents/carers). You will need to balance a
demanding course with self-study and clinical work.</p><p>This full-time training will
begin in January 2026 with around 2.5 days a week for academic work (teaching and
personal study) and 2.5 days based at the service seeing clients related to
training assignments. Trainees will be both an employee of the service and an
enrolled student with Kings College London. Upon completion qualified trainees
will receive a KCL Postgraduate Diploma in Children &amp; Young Peoples Mental

The service has been well established providing a stepped care, evidenced-based model for the treatment of people with common mental health problems. <p><strong>It is essential for applicants to be trained in the NHS Talking Therapies counselling modality Counselling for Depression, and hold relevant registration/accreditation.</strong></p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>To provide a qualified specialist psychological therapy service to clients in the modality of Counselling for Depression. This involves providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy, within one or more psychological therapy models specified by the NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression manual.</p>
<p>It will involve supervision of other colleagues as appropriate.</p>
<p>The post holder works autonomously within professional guidelines and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.</p>

Senior Counsellor (CfD - Counselling for Depression)

  <p>We are looking for 1 committed practitioner who would like to further their studies to train with South West CYP IAPT. We are offering three places to study place on their CBT for Depression and Anxiety programme (PGDIP). It is aimed at staff who work with a range of presentations in their daily practice and would equip you with a BABCP-accredited Postgraduate Diploma. The training is fully funded and we would anticipate you being offered a substantive contract with community CAMHS on successful completion.</p>
<p>The course runs for one year, between January and December. This training course is funded by HEE, you would be studying at the University of Exeter 2 days a week and working in a children's mental health service 2-3 days per week.</p>
<p>'<strong>KSA</strong>' stands for 'Knowledge Skills and Attitude' and involves completing a portfolio throughout the year to show how your current skills match the level necessary for a core profession. To be eligible for the KSA route you would need to have a minimum of 2 years' relevant full-time equivalent therapeutic experience in a mental health setting. <p>This is a training role within the Child and Young Persons Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (CYP-IAPT). The post-holder will work within Cornwall CAMHS service at Cornwall Partnership Trust, providing interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role at the University of Exeter.</p>
<p>This intensive training post will equip the post holder to provide interventions based on CYP-IAPT core principles and an evidence based intervention consistent with their training course. The post- holder would be expected to attend and fulfil all the requirements of the training element of the post and continue to work within the CAMHS service on qualification.</p>
<p>Graduates of any other HEE funded course need to be 2 years post graduation to be eligible to apply.</p>
<p>The course is suitable for anyone who already has a foundation in CBT skills. You would need to have:</p>
