  <p><strong>Mental Health in Schools Support Team (MHST) </strong></p> <p><strong>Psychologist /Specialist CAMHS Practitioner</strong></p> <p><strong>Band 7 - Full Time</strong></p> <p>City &amp; Hackney CAMHS are excited to be expanding our service and recruiting to a new full time post as a Specialist Clinician for the Mental Health in Schools Support Team.</p> <p>The Mental Health Support Team in City &amp; Hackney, which commenced in 2019, aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community. There is a specific focus on developing more access to help and improving the general culture of emotional support within all primary and secondary schools including special educational provisions and PRU's. Working alongside community partners the Mental Health Support Teams will be fully integrated with community CAMHS and educational settings.</p>  <p>The role will help to develop and deliver a wide range of interventions, projects and system change. We aim to deliver whole school and whole community approaches to supporting young people's mental health. The post holder will supervise trainee and qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) trainees. </p>  <p>In addition to providing comprehensive consultation, assessment, risk management and interventions for young people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties in special school settings, the post-holder will clinically support of EMHPs/CWPs who will work in a range of primary and secondary schools across the borough. </p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>

<li>This is an opportunity for qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) who will be two years post-qualification by January 2026.</li>
<li>You will have completed the one-year EMHP Postgraduate Diploma</li>
<li>You will hold professional registration with either the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).</li>

<p>The post holder will be expected to complete the requirements of the 2-year Senior Wellbeing Practitioner Post Graduate Diploma at Kings College London to enable progression to a fully qualified Senior Wellbeing Practitioner. </p>
<p>The KCL CYP MH Low Intensity Advanced Practice PGDip Course (for Senior Wellbeing Practitioners) start date is Monday 26th January 2026.</p>

  <p>Lewisham MHST is a growing service designed to help meet the mental health needs of CYP in education settings. As an early intervention service, the MHST delivers interventions in schools for those with mild to moderate mental health issues and supports schools with developing their whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing.   <p>At Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care, our unique care provides a lifeline of compassion and support to patients, carers, and families facing progressive life-limiting illness.

We provide palliative and end of life care support, including bereavement services, within Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire and our patient services are available to adults, as well as patients transitioning into adult services (16 to 25 years).</p><p>Bereavement support is offered for all ages to families of patients and those around them, as well as throughout the community, in schools and workplaces.

We are proud to offer care in the place that best suits the individuals needs, whether that is at home, in a care home, in a short stay in our inpatient unit, out in the community, or in our purpose-built Living Well Centre facilities. Do you want to be part of a team that supports and improves outcomes for young people at risk of long-term care or inpatient psychiatric admission?</p><p>Then join us for a new and exciting service.</p><p>Westwood House will be a short stay (up to twenty eight days) Ofsted registered residential home for children aged eleven to eighteen years old. This joint service between the NHS and SCC will provide four residential beds for children who are experiencing or are at risk of experiencing social, emotional and/or mental health crisis. We aim to provide a safe, stable environment where children's needs can be assessed and plans can be formulated to support children to return to living in the community, ideally within a family environment.</p><p>Hampshire and IOW healthcare NHS Foundation trust are looking to recruit a senior mental health nurse/practitioner a to support the day-to-day management of young people admitted to Westwood House, as well as completing outreach work for young people &amp; families/carers, who are either due to be admitted or have recently been discharged. This will include assessment, risk management and short-term evidence based psychological interventions.</p>

  <p>This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and creative senior nurse to be part of forming the service and leading on training for new staff to deliver on the vision. We want to ensure that we provide a safe environment with highly skilled staff where we can really understand the underlying issues behind presenting crisis and ensure that any future planning is undertaken in a calm, considered way to ensure longer term stability for children. You will be a culture carrier for high-quality, aspirational care of vulnerable young people to improve longer terms outcomes.</p><p>Utilising your experience in mental health working with young people, you will be pivotal in setting the standard for safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care as part of a wider multi-agency team. You will share your knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with complex needs, that current services struggle to meet. You will help to train residential staff to support young peoples mental health needs and effectively risk manage.</p>
