Principal Clinical Psychologist

  <p>We're seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (Band 8a, 1.0 WTE) to help shape and deliver psychologically-informed care in our 24/7 recovery house service--a short-stay alternative to hospital admission for adults experiencing acute mental health distress.Working flexibly within a multidisciplinary team, you'll provide trauma-informed assessments, brief interventions, and psychological leadership in a recovery-focused, inclusive environment that centres lived experience and cultural safety.</p> <p>Recovery House (RH)is a new and innovative service we are launching that meets an important need for people(18+)experiencing poor mental health. The RH will provide those in crisis with a safe, secure and welcoming environment to support the de-escalation of crisis. The House will be open to new and existing BSMHFT service users and will provide a homely environment, allowing people to retain independence, whilst receiving person centred and appropriate care.</p> <p>The service which is part of the Trust's Urgent Care pathway is a partnership with Birmingham Mind and builds on the range of strong collaborations we have with the voluntary sector.</p> <p>The RH will serve as a base for community integration, allowing service users to connect with local communities and provision, as well as their family/carers.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a Psychologist, to lead the Long-Term Conditions part of Paediatric Psychological Support Service based at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital.</p> <p>The post-holder will be part of a small team of psychologists working with children diagnosed with a range of long-term medical conditions (e.g. inflammatory bowel diseases, juvenile arthritis, epilepsy) living in Brighton and Hove. This role includes close collaboration with another 8a psychologist who leads on working with children with long-term conditions living outside of Brighton and Hove.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The Long-Term Conditions Service offer short-term therapy, as well as consultation and training to support the needs of children diagnosed with long-term medical conditions. as a service, we draw on a range of therapeutic approaches including CBT, systemic, mindfulness, ACT and EMDR. The focus of this role would be to oversee the incoming referrals to the service and responses to these, including holding a clinical caseload and supervising the clinical work of a band 7 psychologist (and at times a trainee clinical psychologist). This role would suit a flexible and dynamic practitioner who is able to develop treatment plans that are tailored to the needs of children, young people and their families, which might include individual, parent-child, parent or group work, as well as close liaison with medical teams and other agencies. There is room for innovation within the service, with previous practitioners offering Tree of Life groups, Woodland Wellbeing days and sea swimming groups to support young people to have a different experience of themselves and build their confidence. Opportunities to develop appropriate staff training and group work is also supported where this meets a clinical need. The post-holder would be encouraged to supervise or co-supervise a trainee clinical psychologist.</p>

  <p>This role covers teams based in Gloucester, Cheltenham and across the county. All reasonable flexible working requests will be considered, but the post holder will be expected to work across sites in line with service need.</p> <p>Our specialist mental health services work with adults with severe mental health problems. There are six specialist services on the Brooklands Hospital site, providing inpatient assessment and treatment services to adults (men and women) and young people with an Intellectual Disability.   <p>The post holder would be joining a dynamic team with a range of clinical interests and expertise in a variety of therapeutic models including DBT, Compassion Focussed, EMDR and Narrative approaches.</p> <p>Positive Behavioural Support is a major part of our treatment philosophy and the service ethos is to ensure that effective, evidence based interventions are provided to people who can present considerable risk, to ensure that they can return to a less restrictive environment in the community as soon as possible.</p> <p>All members of the team receive excellent support, good quality supervision and opportunities for continuing professional development. There are good links with psychological services staff across the Trust, developing Special Interest Groups across speciality and an annual conference. The Psychological services team also has strong links with local clinical and forensic training courses, and regularly provides placements for trainee clinical and forensic psychologists, supervision for DClinPsy and DForPsy research, and teaching on the courses.</p> <p>Candidates with experience of working within a range of clinical settings including CAMHS, Forensic, Mental Health, Social Care and Learning Disabilities are welcomed. a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist at our forensic mental health hospital, Heatherwood
Court. Comprising of a Locked Rehabilitation Service (1 female ward) and a Low
Secure Service (1 male and 2 female wards), Heatherwood Court treats patients with
complex needs, including severe and enduring mental illness, complex trauma,
and difficulties consistent with a diagnosis of personality disorder. </p><p>We are looking for applicants with
experience of working with service users with complex needs and risk behaviours
along with those who have an interest and prior experience of delivering
evidenced-based interventions for people with personality disorder and/or
complex mental health problems. We are particularly interested in candidates
who have received DBT training, but would offer training to suitable candidates
on appointment.</p><p>This post will join an established, dynamic
team of psychologists including a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, , Forensic Psychologist and
Assistant Psychologists, working as part of a specialist multi-disciplinary
team. The team are also supported by Positive Practice Workers, graduate
psychologists in blended role combining both support worker shifts and clinical
days with the teams. There are also regular opportunities to network with the

  <p>Community Mental Health Services have undergone widespread innovative transformation. North London Foundation NHS Trust is at the forefront of this transformation, developing a more holistic, recovery oriented, biopsychosocial approach to supporting people with mental health difficulties, in partnership with primary care, other community NHS providers and the voluntary sector. The aim is to build support systems that reach the whole mental health population with a focus on prevention and sustained recovery delivered by multi-agency collaboration. Each population unit is based on the footprint of a Primary Care Network (PCN), bringing together NHS, voluntary sector, peer support and community organisations. These relationships will be central to the new community mental health model.Clinical Associate Psychologists are an innovative role in mental health services, that are core to this community transformation and offering high quality clinical care to the Camden borough.We have an opportunity for a qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist (Band 6) to join our South Camden Core Team on a full-time basis. They will join a team of Senior Counselling Psychologist and Senior Clinical Psychologist, CBT therapists as well complex emotional needs psychologists and structured clinical management practitioners, all of whom are linked to the multi-disciplinary team, GPs and voluntary services sector.Interested applicants are encouraged to make contact for an informal conversation.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The CAP role is central to the team's psychological provision, with opportunities for group interventions, 1:1 therapy using a Structured Clinical Management model and other evidence based approaches, alongside joint assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation.</p> <p>There will be opportunities for leadership, research, service development and consultation to the system, which will involve liaising with professionals involved in the in care of the individual. The teams work closely as MDTs, with weekly clinical meetings where complex cases can be thought about and MDT formulations can be developed.
