Join the friendly and supportive team of qualified, ‘in training’ and Assistant Psychologists, each of whom work within a variety of different psychological frameworks and modalities. The team also includes a CBT Therapist and DBT Nurse Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate competency in the core areas required to qualify as a Forensic Psychologist, receiving supervision from a Chartered Forensic Psychologist.
You will be working in the male forensic services, which encompass medium and low secure care for service users. There will be opportunity to utilise a variety of therapeutic approaches to aid rehabilitation for individuals who have complex needs and require help to manage their internal processes in a safer way, whilst working towards rehabilitation. In particular the role will involve contribution towards our MDT team based DBT informed approach to treatment of men with acute mental illness.
Working as Trainee Psychologist in our team, you will have your own case load, under supervision and will support with conducting assessments and facilitating group and individual therapeutic sessions across the male services. You will also be supporting and contributing to risk assessments, collection and analysis of data, and representing Psychology in multi-disciplinary clinical meetings. You will support in co-facilitating workshops and training delivered across the hospital. You will also be supported to maintain your personal and professional development.
We are committed to evaluating the effectiveness of our treatment programmes to ensure patients are receiving the required treatment, and there is encouragement to engage in Research projects. Chadwick lodge has links to both Birmingham and Nottingham Universities and is experienced at supporting Psychologists in Training.
This is an on-site position, and full time hours (37.5 per week) are preferable, although those seeking part-time hours or some flexible working arrangements will be considered.
Your responsibilities will include:

 <li>Holding a caseload of clinical work, including carrying out individual and group psychological intervention and developing formulations.</li>
 <li>Undertaking collaborative risk assessment and management for individual patients</li>
 <li>Undertaking psychological assessments and their write up using appropriate psychometric measures, direct and indirect observations, and semi-structured interviews, under appropriate supervision.</li>
 <li>Attending relevant meetings to contribute to the planning and development of service improvements.</li>
 <li>Managing and maintaining databases.</li>
 <li>Assisting with audits and research projects where required.</li>
 <li>Attending reflective practice sessions.</li>
 <li>Supporting qualified members of staff within the service on a day to day basis.</li>
 <li>Maintaining highest standards of clinical governance, ethical practice, and data protection.</li>

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

 <li>A BPS accredited recognised Masters degree in Forensic Psychology conferring Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR)</li>
 <li>Previous experience within clinical and / or forensic settings</li>
 <li>Clear professional goals for development</li>
 <li>A willingness to meet professional practice expectations and the regulatory body codes of ethics</li>

The successful candidate will ideally have some experience in risk assessment and the delivery of different therapeutic models that support service users towards recovery (i.e. CBT, CFT, Schema or DBT). Chadwick Lodge is a 113 bedded hospital consisting of a combination of secure, acute and DBT wards, both for men and women, across levels of security, from medium secure to locked. 
As a Consultant Psychiatrist some of your key responsibilities will include management of complex cases, formulating care plans and treatments for individual needs of service users, and guiding on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness. You will have a caseload of approximately 15 patients depending on the service user cohort and as a result may have a caseload across different wards.&nbsp;

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be:

The SEN School is in Maidenhead and the role is full-time starting ASAP or in September 2025. The SEN children are aged 8 to 18 and require consistent, ongoing support in order to ensure they have the highest quality of care and child-centred support. The school employ a therapeutic approach so will offer a range of training to the mental health assistant appointed. Experience in a similar role would be desirable but not essential. Graduates in a relative field would be desirable too (e.g. Psychology, Counselling, Criminology etc).This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for the mental health assistant to work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at school. You will be mentored and have the opportunity to shadow sessions and learn from them. Plus you will gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs and Mental Health issues.
