			<p>Are you a Clinical/ Forensic Psychologist looking to take the next step in your&nbsp;career?&nbsp;&nbsp;If so,&nbsp; join Thornford Park as a Clinical/ Forensic Psychologist where you will&nbsp;join a service for male and female service users who require care in medium or low security.</p>
<p>You will provide the Ward Psychologist role for a male Learning Disability MSU, being an integral part of the multidisciplinary teams, providing psychological input to the service user groups, and supporting and supervising the Assistant Psychologist working on the ward.</p>
<p>We provide services for male and female patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) who require care in conditions of medium and low security. Our service users, many of whom have forensic histories, require long-term treatment and rehabilitation and present with multiple problems, challenging and high-risk behaviour and complex care needs. In addition to the mental health wards, Thornford Park has a 14-bedded low secure service for male patients with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, commissioned by NHS England, a medium/low secure service for females with a Learning Disability, and a medium secure service for males with Learning Disability.&nbsp; We also have two Psychiatric Intensive Care Units, one for males and one for females, providing holistic assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing crisis.</p>
<p><strong>As the Clinical/Forensic Psychologist, you will be:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Autonomous in managing your own caseload, which will involve working with complex service-users.</li>
    <li>Attending regular clinical and service development meetings, such as MDT’s, CPA’s, referrals, and other hospital-wide meetings</li>
    <li>An integral part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team on Male LD MSU</li>
    <li>Providing both long &amp; short-term work, which includes being able to undertake clinical assessments to determine clinical needs &amp; treatment plans.</li>
    <li>Providing both individual and group work to the patients.</li>
    <li>Maintaining monthly clinical supervision as well as regular line-management supervision</li>
    <li>Providing clinical supervision to Assistant Psychologist and other therapy staff as appropriate and facilitating in the provision of reflective practice.</li>
    <li>Providing both written &amp; verbal contributions to the MDT/ICR</li>
    <li>Supporting the MDT in the development and review of care plans</li>
    <li>Offering specialist clinical advice including the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care within the service</li>

<p><strong>What you will need:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Successful completion of a Doctorate in either Clinical or Forensic Psychology or the British Psychological Society’s stage 2 training in Forensic Psychology, enabling registration with the HCPC as as Practitioner Psychologist.</li>
    <li>Registration with the HCPC as a practitioner Psychologist and Charterable status with the British Psychological Society.</li>
    <li>Experience (either pre-training, on training, or subsequently) of working with clients with complex needs that are relevant to the population in the service area.</li>
    <li>&nbsp;Competency in psychological assessment and formulation skills and an aptitude for learning new assessment methods.</li>
    <li>Competency as regards risk assessment/management tools and formulation.</li>
    <li>Clinical therapy skills - Experience using CBT and/or other Psychological Models to address a range of clinical and/or forensic issues. An awareness of other modalities and how they may be applied to the current service user population.</li>

<p>You'll be joining an established, supportive Multidisciplinary Team providing rehabilitation to people with neurological conditions in their own homes. We work across the Community Neuro Rehabilitation Service and the Early Supported Discharge for Stroke service, helping patients regain independence and achieve the goals that matter most to them.</p>
<p>The Therapy Assistant role is pivotal, and you will work closely together with all of the other team members to support patients' rehabilitation, manage their neurological condition and achieve their goals.</p>
<p>As part of the role, you'll visit patients in their homes and in community settings, so access to your own vehicle is essential. After a thorough induction, you'll deliver rehabilitation and education sessions both independently and alongside other team members. Your day-to-day work will be varied and tailored to each patient's needs.</p>
<p>You'll be joining a team with a wealth of specialist knowledge, links and experience, and you'll have plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and develop within neurological rehabilitation.</p>

<p><strong>A team of neuro rehabilitation specialists assisting people to manage their neurological condition and achieve their goals, in their chosen environment, aiming towards greater independence in everyday life.</strong></p>

  <p></p><p> To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care. To maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Trust Policies and Procedures. To act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005). To be aware of and implement Safeguarding Adult and Child Protection Policies, Procedures and legislation. </p> <p> To carry out comprehensive psychological assessments (and cognitive assessments for psychologists) and formulation, plan implement and evaluate delivery of psychology interventions and consultations to support people with specific needs. </p> <p> To actively involve people in developing and agreeing their own care plan, to act as an advocate and ensure that there is proper regard for their dignity, choice, self-esteem, racial, cultural, sexual and religious needs and preferences.</p> <p> To work creatively to adapt verbal and written communication to meet the needs of people who use our services</p> <p> To undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk management plans.</p> <p> To establish and maintain effective partnerships and relationships with colleagues, other agencies, people who use services and their carers and support staff.</p> <p>For more information, see the job description.</p>
