Specialist CAMHS Practitioner / Occupational Therapist

Provide specialist Occupational Therapy expertise during assessment of CYP and their families with significant and complex problems in order to formulate and implement plans for the treatment and management of mental health difficulties based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and employing research based evidence. To use highly specialist skills to assess how clients mental health difficulties impact upon their occupational areas and performance components Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and wider multi-agency network to ensure the provision of quality, person-centered care. Care coordinate a caseload under the care of EL CAMHS HTT, in accordance with the CPA framework Provide consultation, advice and guidance to other professionals working with families both within the service and in partner agencies. This will include liaison and working with professional networks involved with complex, emotive and sometimes conflictual issues such as those involving child protection, deliberate self-harm, violence, trauma and suicide risk. Work closely with multi-disciplinary colleagues in inpatient services to ensure safe discharge plans are in place for young people and their families Assess and monitor clinical risk and mental state on an on-going basis, collaboratively undertaking risk assessments with other professionals and informing relevant agencies of changes as appropriate Undertake specialist assessment of daily living skills and social skills to ascertain level of functional ability, risk factors and level of support/ accommodation needs in support community care plans
