Join the team at Gateway Recovery Centre as a Consultant Psychiatrist&nbsp;providing care and treatment for men and women in&nbsp;specialist inpatient, rehabilitation and low secure settings.&nbsp;
Gateway Recovery Centre is situated in Widnes, close to Liverpool, Manchester, Chester and surrounding areas. There are excellent transport links, which allows the town to be reachable for those travelling across the Northwest.
Gateway Recovery Centre has 72 beds spread across 6 wards.3 wards constitute the women’s service with one acute ward and two level 2 rehabilitation ward for women with high support needs. The other 3 wards provide care to men in specialist rehabilitation unit for men with ASD (Cedar ward), low secure ward (Dove ward) and a rehabilitation ward for older men with complex mental health needs and physical health comorbidities (Ash Ward).
The team consists currently of 4.5 consultants, and you will deliver clinical care to a dedicated caseload. You will be supported by a practice nurse and an enhanced GP service to meet patients’ physical healthcare needs. You will have support from a dedicated supervisor and a medical secretarial team. Specialty doctor cover is available for the acute ward.
You will have access to excellent CPD, and the support of a large peer group of enthusiastic and high-calibre consultants from varied sub-specialties.
Your responsibilities will include:

 <li>0.5 wte will carry a case load of 8-12 patients depending on the nature of the service</li>

What you will be doing:
You will&nbsp;provide specialist care and treatment to adult male patients who are detained under the Mental Health Act (1983). Our service users, many of whom have Acquired Brain Injury and forensic histories, require long term treatment and rehabilitation and present with multiple difficulties, including high risk behaviour and complex care needs. St Mary's hospital offers a breadth of opportunity and experience for clinical work, &nbsp;with a medium secure and a low secure ward; a Level 2 rehabilitation ward; and an Acute service. In collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and under the direction and supervision of the Joint Heads of Psychology, you will support the delivery of psychology services across St Mary’s Hospital. In the absence of the Joint Heads, you will act as the primary point of contact between the psychology department and the senior management team.
As the Forensic/ Clinical/ Counselling/ Neuro Psychologist you will have active participation in multidisciplinary team work, ensuring that our service users are fully engaged in their care pathways. It also includes supporting clinical team efforts through both direct interventions and the facilitation of staff training programmes. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new initiatives and ways of working within the service and working in partnership with both internal and external agencies to enhance treatment pathways for service users.

Are you a Consultant Psychiatrist on the specialist register for forensic or general adult psychiatry, who is passionate about improving the lives of women with complex mental health needs? &nbsp;If so, join the team at Arbury Court hospital.
Working 37.5 hours a week, you will provide care and treatment for adult women with a wide range of mental health issues, responsible for delivering care programmes, managing physical and mental health concerns and providing&nbsp;individualised approaches to the care and treatment of people admitted to the hospital.


Arbury Court are seeking a Full Time Consultant Psychiatrist, preferably on the Specialist Register for Forensic to run a medium or low secure ward depending on preference.

Arbury Court is situated outside Warrington, just off the M62 and close to Liverpool, Manchester, and Chester. &nbsp;There are excellent transport links, making the hospital highly commutable from across the North West.&nbsp;

This role includes second on-call duties (currently 1 in 17 for full time consultants) and some wards have middle-grade support. &nbsp;There are also opportunities for voluntary paid extra first on call locum shifts, and time back in lieu for on-call work.&nbsp;
Your responsibilities:
<ul type="disc">
 <li>Working effectively with patients and colleagues to ensure the best care and treatment outcomes</li>
 <li>Driving multidisciplinary care</li>
 <li>Contributing to service development and governance processes e.g. via quality improvement work</li>
 <li>Building positive relationships with external stakeholders such as NHS England case managers</li>
 <li>Undertaking psychiatric assessments for women referred to the unit to determine the appropriate level of care to be provided</li>
 <li>Providing oral and written evidence at First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers’ hearings</li>
 <li>Ensuring that you are up to date with the latest developments by attending conferences, online courses etc.</li>
</ul>
&nbsp;&nbsp;To be successful in this role, you will need:
<ul type="disc">
 <li>Full GMC registration and Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists</li>
 <li>To be on (or about to join) the GMC specialist register for either forensic or general adult psychiatry</li>
 <li>Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status</li>
 <li>To be in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists and up to date with appraisals</li>

Forensic or General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist

Join the team at Thornford Park Hospital to deliver high-quality clinical service to people with complex mental health conditions across the medium and low secure Forensic Mental Health Services. In addition to these services there is also a PICU Mental Health Service.&nbsp;
You will work closely with the unit's multidisciplinary team, including the Consultant, to ensure that patients receive a holistic and person-centric treatment programme based on the recovery model.

Our&nbsp;Associate Specialist role involves:
<ul>
 <li>Ensuring an adequate handover to colleagues including out of hours</li>
 <li>Reviewing the mental state of patients as per the hospital procedure</li>
 <li>Ensuring that each patient has a full physical health screen upon admission including physical examination, ECG and bloods</li>
 <li>Lead and manage any physical health concerns that emerge during an inpatient stay</li>
 <li>Seeking collateral history from other professionals and family</li>
 <li>Completing discharge letters/reports/s62 forms</li>
 <li>Preparing First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers’ hearing reports under the supervision of the Consultant</li>
 <li>Depending on your experience, providing oral evidence at First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers’ hearings under the supervision of the Consultant</li>
 <li>Contributing to the service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities by conducting audits, research and teaching.&nbsp;</li>
 <li>Work effectively with colleagues to ensure that patients have access to appropriate medical cover at all times, which will require participation on an on-call rota for the Thornford Park Hospital site</li>
</ul>
To be successful as a Associate Specialist&nbsp;, you’ll need:

 <li>Full GMC registration 
 </li>
 <li>Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams</li>
 <li>To be in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists</li>
 <li>To have had an appraisal/RITA within the last year</li>
 <li>Experience working as a doctor within similar environment</li>
 <li>MRCPsych (desirable)</li>
 <li>Section 12 (2) approval (desirable)</li>
 <li>AC status (desirable)</li>
 <li>A minimum of 2 years in the registrar or staff grade and/or specialty doctor&nbsp;grade and/or in the clinical and/or senior clinical medical officer grades, ideally with experiences in Women’s services.</li>
