About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our team working at

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital

The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to individuals experiencing a range of mental health conditions, promoting recovery, independence, and wellbeing within community and/or inpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, promoting recovery and independence.
  • Build positive therapeutic relationships with service users while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Support individuals with daily living activities, encouraging engagement in meaningful activities and promoting social inclusion.
  • Monitor and report changes in mental or physical health, escalating concerns appropriately to registered healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with the implementation of care plans developed by the multidisciplinary team.
Who We Are Looking For Experience:
  • Previous experience working as a Mental Health Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, or within a mental health, social care, or healthcare setting is desirable.
  • Experience supporting individuals with a range of mental health conditions, learning disabilities, or complex needs is advantageous.
Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting others.
  • Ability to recognise changes in a person's mental health and escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to delivering person-centred, recovery-focused care.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Comfortable working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary healthcare team.
