Intent on providing evidence-based interventions, this service is committed to providing good quality psychological therapies for people with psychosis and their families.</p> <p>Experience in Mental health (especially psychosis) and additional Specialist Postgraduate Qualification to Masters level or equivalent in relevant Family and/ or Systemic Psychotherapy is necessary for the role.</p> <p>The Early Intervention for Psychosis Service is a well-respected and well-established multi-disciplinary service with a reputation for excellence. The EIP psychological therapies service is integrated within the EIP service and committed to providing support, excellent supervision and todeveloping its staff.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Family work is an integral part of EIP care offered to service users and their carers/family members.   <p>Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) support children, young people and their families that have links to identified school settings. Each designated MHST will work in collaboration with schools and other agencies who cover a population of up to 7,000 children and young people.Trailblazer sites were established in Kent in 2019, with the service aim to cover 50% of the schools across Kent and Medway by 2026. We work closely with the Adolescent teams and borough based clinical teams across the three boroughs, as well as with tier 4 (inpatient services) which are provided by the South London Partnership. The crisis team is multidisciplinary, and is supported by a team manager, consultant nurse, operational manager and a full time Consultant Psychiatrist.</p> <p>The pathway is made up of the Crisis Team, DBT Team and the Intensive Home Treatment Team.</p>

<li>To carry out effective bio psychosocial assessments of individuals in crisis referred to the team from community mental health teams, GPs and other sources.</li>
<li>To carry out effective risk assessment and management, seeking advice from multi- disciplinary colleagues and other teams where needed</li>
<li>To provide a range of agreed brief crisis clinical interventions to service users and their relatives in any setting, aimed at increasing the individual's psychological stability</li>
<li>To develop effective crisis plans with individuals which will improve their future resilience</li>

Where needed, you will work closely with colleagues at Steps 3 and 4, and external services, to support safe onward referrals and step ups, at all times maintaining and advocating for patient dignity, confidentiality and inclusivity.</p><p><strong>Getting to know You</strong></p><p>Each PWP brings their own unique skills, background, and experiences to their practice. Alongside this, we are also looking for:</p><ul><li>A Graduate/Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Low Intensity Interventions (Adults)</li> <li>BABCP or BPS registration or pending registration (if returning to practice and not sure how to meet registration requirements, we are happy to discuss prior to interview)</li> <li>Experience of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem</li> <li>An awareness of and commitment to supporting and facilitating diversity and inclusion</li></ul><p>This is a remote or hybrid role.
