Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust manage the mental health services on site.</p> <p>Your clinical expertise and extensive knowledge will support the delivery of Mental Health provision and develop pathways, quality care and clinical governance structures.</p> <p>You will have extensive experience of working within an prison or wider forensic services.   <p>This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service which we are delivering across Bolton: The Mental Health Support Team (MHST).</p> <p>There is significant focus on transforming Children and Young People's Mental Health Services within the NHS. The NHSLong Term Planwhich builds onthe 2017 Children and Young People's Mental HealthGreen Paperhas set out proposals to improve mental health support in schools and colleges.</p> <p>MHSTs are designed to help meet the mental health needs of children and young people in primary, secondary and further education (primarily for ages 5 to 18), by providing mental health support in schools, colleges and other education settings such as alternative provision.</p> <p>The three core functions of a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) are:</p> <ul>  <li>Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to-moderate mental health problems.</li>  <li>Supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce or develop their whole school/college approach</li>  <li>Giving timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education.</li> </ul>

<p>Bolton MHST works with the mental health support services that already exist, such as counsellors, educational psychologists, school nurses, pastoral care staff and educational welfare officers.</p>

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The Wellbeing in Mind team has 3 functions:</p> <ol>  <li>Support the development of a whole-school or college approach to wellbeing. This can include, but is not limited to, supporting sites to develop and implement mental health and wellbeing policies, development of resources, supporting campaigns and delivering training, assemblies and PHSE curriculum.</li>  <li>Provide timely advice and consultation to education staff. This is designed to support teaching staff to build their skills and confidence in supporting the wellbeing needs of their students/pupils. This is offered in both a formal and informal way.</li>  <li>Undertake direct assessments and intervention for young people within education. We offer a low intensity service model, predominantly using cognitive-behavioural therapy.</li> </ol> <p>Each function accounts for a third of the team's workload.</p> <p>Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.   <p><strong>General Overview of Role</strong></p><p>* To provide leadership in psychiatry in outpatient services within the Hub region and to extend support and advice within the wider charity.</p><p>* To contribute to clinical leadership and deliver psychiatric expertise to the Hub with responsibility to assess, diagnose and recommend treatment of veterans.</p><p>* To be clinically responsible, with the senior psychologist and other professionals, for management of the care of veterans within the Hub.</p><p>* The post holder will also be expected to advise the Head of Operations/ Deputy Head of Operations on clinical matters, provide psychiatric leadership, and contribute to the development of interdisciplinary team working on a day-to-day basis in order to meet the clinical needs of the veterans referred.</p><p>* To support the service development via the provision of psychiatric and medical expert advice.
