<p>Cotswold House is a Specialist Eating Disorder Unit based at the Warneford Hospital in Oxford, offering 14 inpatient beds and six day patients. We are looking for a qualified <strong>Occupational Therapist</strong> who is registered with HCPC to join our <strong>diverse, innovative and passionate</strong> multidisciplinary team on a <strong>full time </strong>basis.</p>
<p>With a reputation for excellence, our service provides a stepped-care model of care tailored to the individual's needs for stabilisation and recovery.</p>
<p>Our service has a whole-team Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-ED) approach. We offer a range of CBT-ED programmes and evidence-based treatments to assist a patient's return to independent living, including work, training, or study. You can draw upon your skills /models of formulating patient assessments and outcomes, as appropriate to the patient's individualised formulation. Further training and CPD opportunities are available, such as PEACE Pathway, Masters Pathway, CBT-E Skills training and DBT Skills training to the successful applicant.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <ul>  <li>To develop and provide a high standard of assessment and treatment for patients referred to the service.</li>  <li>To take responsibility for an agreed clinical caseload, involving care co-ordination as appropriate.</li>  <li>To collaboratively assess and provide needs-based treatment programmes and discharge plans for patients which compliment the overall provision of service</li>  <li>To develop and maintain relevant therapeutic activities as appropriate to the patient group served, including opportunities for cognitive, creative, education, work, leisure, interpersonal and life skills. wherever possible to ensure these interventions are evidence based.</li>  <li>In consultation with users, carers and clinical teams to plan and provide appropriate therapy services for patients referred, within defined resources and using evidence-based practice.</li>  <li>To act as a role model and coach to staff within the service and across multidisciplinary teams, students, patients and carers to ensure best practice is maintained.</li> </ul> <p>We know that many roles for Occupational Therapists working in mental health do not provide the ability to draw on these core occupational therapy skills. We are keen to support Occupational Therapists who want to step into roles that use their profession specific skills, alongside their mental health practitioner skills. Occupational Therapist - Mental Health Adult Eating Disorders

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>You would be joining a comprehensive and dynamic CAMH service, delivering a substantial stepped model of care following the needs-led i-Thrive framework. There are a number of posts across the whole of Central Bedfordshire. Your role will help to develop and deliver a wide range of interventions, projects and system changes with the aim of the whole community approaches to supporting young people's mental health. These are newly funded roles that are community based, whose aim is to offer an Early Intervention service for Young People whose complexities cannot be served by our 5 Mental health in Support Teams but do not reach the threshold for core CAMHS. You will be providing comprehensive consultations, assessments, risk management and interventions for young people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties. The post-holder will also clinically supervise colleagues. There may be an option of supervisor training at Reading University which we would strongly encourage post holders to take up.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>We are looking for confident CAMHS professionals with a demonstrable track record, within CAMHS, of providing good quality evidence-based interventions and improving service quality. You will be a Mental Health Nurse, Systemic Family Psychotherapist, Psychologist, Arts Psychotherapist, Social Worker, Child Psychotherapist, CBT Therapist, Counsellor or Occupational Therapist with the requisite professional registration. We welcome applicants who have experience of working or living in Central Bedfordshire.</p> <p>There is a national focus on increasing the reach of Early Intervention for Children and Young People with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community. In line with the recently published NHS 10 Year Plan we have an ambition to increase more access to early Intervention to all Young people in Central Bedfordshire and improve the general culture of emotional support to all Young people and their families. Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Elekta Linear Accelerators and a Halcyon system with Ethos software--enabling the delivery of advanced adaptive radiotherapy.  We use CRAD SGRT throughout the department. We also operate a busy and well-established brachytherapy service, treating a range of prostate, gynaecological, and skin cancers. Imaging is supported by a Toshiba wide bore CT scanner.</p>
<p>This competency-based role offers flexibility and scope for development. You will have the opportunity to rotate through all key areas of the department--including CT, pre-treatment checking, treatment, and brachytherapy--or, if preferred, specialise in an area aligned with your experience and interests.</p>
<p>We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to working. The role will include participation in shift patterns and extended hours to meet service capacity and patient demand. You will also be part of the departmental on-call rota and may be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays as part of our gap management strategy.</p>

<p>You will have the opportunity to work across Aintree, Broadgreen and the new state-of-the-art Royal Liverpool Hospital. Some specialities provide extended service hours, 8am-8pm seven days a week, therefore flexible working arrangements can be considered to support work-life balance.</p>
<p>You will have a key role in completing skilled assessment and clinical reasoning to provide treatment, promote recovery, risk assess and problem solve to arrange complex discharges at the earliest and safest opportunity.</p>
<p>We are committed to staff development and training including leadership. You will have peer support, access to regular supervision and support from the Band 7s/8as.</p>
<p>This opportunity is open to both existing Band 6s and experienced Band 5s who are keen to develop into a band 6 role via a training route if appropriate (Annex 21).</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>We wish to recruit an experienced clinician who has a clear understanding of the developing role of Occupational Therapy within integrated therapy services, and the ability to support leadership of a team which delivers innovative, responsive services to meet both the needs of patients and the organisation. The post holder will have clinical experience working with adults with complex presentations, in particular older people with multiple co-morbidity.</p>
<p>The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work as an effective member of the wider team as well as with other external agencies. You will be required to participate or lead on service review in order to identify service development needs and support the band 7 in delivering this while meeting clinical service demands</p>
<p>We have regular team meetings and are committed to continuing professional development. We have a clear supervision structure and advice is available from our highly skilled Band 7s and 8as within the departments.</p>
<p>Band 6 employees are required to supervise Band 5 and assistant staff, and deputise for clinical team leads.</p>
