<p>We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our progressive and friendly radiotherapy team. Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Elekta Linear Accelerators and a Halcyon system with Ethos software--enabling the delivery of advanced adaptive radiotherapy.  We use CRAD SGRT throughout the department. We also operate a busy and well-established brachytherapy service, treating a range of prostate, gynaecological, and skin cancers. Imaging is supported by a Toshiba wide bore CT scanner.</p>
<p>This competency-based role offers flexibility and scope for development. You will have the opportunity to rotate through all key areas of the department--including CT, pre-treatment checking, treatment, and brachytherapy--or, if preferred, specialise in an area aligned with your experience and interests.</p>
<p>We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to working. The role will include participation in shift patterns and extended hours to meet service capacity and patient demand. You will also be part of the departmental on-call rota and may be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays as part of our gap management strategy.</p>

Senior Occupational Therapist

  <p>This role offers a rare and exciting opportunity to be part of the radiotherapy/proton beam therapy review team at UCLH. The post holder will undertake rotations between the photon and proton departments. The role involves working and leading within the Radiotherapy Review Team; reviewing patients during their treatment and supporting them both physically and psychologically throughout their radiotherapy journey. They will be required to ensure there is an appropriate plan for the on-treatment review of each patient and a mechanism of communication to the wider MDT. The post holder will play a key role in helping patients understand the treatment process, toxicity and likely side effects of radiotherapy, along with providing them with advice on how to self-care and manage their symptoms appropriately. Any proton beam therapy or photon beam thearpy training required relating to managing side effects of this treatment and other required underpinning knowledge will be provided. Training for on treatment review and independent/supplementary prescribing if required will be supported.The photon department is equipped with Varian TrueBeam systems and a Halcyon with advanced imaging packages and 6DoF couches. The department has a comprehensive brachytherapy suite and a Gulmay skin unit. UCLH is one of only two NHS sites delivering proton beam therapy across the NHS.</p>

  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen at University Hospital Southampton Trust to undertake a level 6 apprenticeship in Therapeutic Radiography. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team treating patients with cancer using radiation in an innovative and ever developing field of healthcare. Southampton's Radiotherapy department is newly equipped with state-of-the-art treatment Linacs with Surface-Guided technology fitted on all of these. </p>
<p>This exciting role provides candidates with the opportunity to earn whilst you learn, gets hand on clinical practice as well as theory-based learning through Sheffield Hallam University.</p>
<p>The apprenticeship runs over 3 years, based in University Hospital Southampton's Radiotherapy department, and comprises of:</p>
<ul>
<li>On the job training based within our pioneering radiotherapy department</li>
<li>Off the job training - following an integrated timetable with Sheffield Hallam University. The University course commences in March 2024; attendance will be mostly through distance learning although you will be expected to attend a few days on site at the University.</li>
<li>Completion of a BSc (Hons) degree in Therapeutic Radiography, approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)</li>

<p>The post is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.</p>
