We are looking for a part time position (3 days a week) for a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant within our Adult SLT Service. We work with patients in their own homes, in clinics at inpatient neuro-rehabilitation and in Lister Hospital.</strong></p>
<p>The post-holder will need to be organised, enthusiastic, a good communicator and will have previous experience in a rehabilitation or care delivery setting. You will be assisting in the rehabilitation of patients with a wide range of neurological needs (including physical, communication and cognitive) which may include both individual sessions and group work. You will be working closely with the Speech and Language Therapists and a wider MDT including the medical team, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Nurses. You will need to be able to keep accurate clinical records and have good clerical/ administrative skills.</p>

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p></p><p>The post-holder will be responsible for supporting Speech and Language Therapists with the assessment and management of adults with acquired communication, speech, language or eating and drinking disorders.</p>
<p>You will carry out therapy plans with patients who may have a range of diagnoses including stroke, Parkinson's, dementia, Motor Neuron disease and other progressive neurological conditions. You will need to build excellent rapport with patients and providing them with a high level of care.</p>
<p>You will need to be able to keep accurate clinical records and have good clerical/ administrative skills.</p>
<p>You will support the team with resource building, such as low tech augmentative and alternative communication aids (AAC).</p>
<p>You will help to run communication groups alongside other SLTAs.</p>
<p>The Speech and Language Therapy Service in East &amp; North Hertfordshire is an integrated acute and community service covering community clinics, inpatient Neurological Rehabilitation and the Acute and Stroke teams based at the Lister Hospital. There are frequent opportunities for gaining skills in other areas and career progression.</p>

<p>The post holder will provide high-quality pre- and post-bereavement counselling to individuals and families, based on evidence-based practice and in line with statutory requirements and NHS policies. <p>Norfolk Community Health and Care are excited to offer this excellent opportunity as a Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist. This rotational position offers experience in a wide variety of settings, which are either community based or ward based. The Trust is passionate about our staff's development and offers a wide range of internal training opportunities to support your development, some very specific to the location where you are based, others to develop your management skills going forward. You will also have an opportunity to attend the rotational development days, which are led by you as a group.</p>
<p>We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to join our integrated teams with experienced therapists and therapy assistants, who work closely alongside our nursing colleagues. There will be a requirement to travel to clinics and patients within the Community, therefore a valid driving licence and access to transport is essential.</p>
<p>To apply you will need to have a BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy and be registered with the HCPC or an undergraduate student nearing course completion. It is also open to those returning to practice.</p>
<p>Flexible working is possible. Weekend and evening working may be required as per the demands of the Service.</p>

The post holder will be an independent botulinum toxin injector for spasticity, or willing to train as an injector within the first year in post. Training will be fully funded and supported.</p> <p>The post holder will be based at West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre, which includes Specialist Clinics, Prosthetics, Orthotics, Access to Communications Technology, Birmingham Wheelchair Services and Posture &amp; Mobility.</p> <p>This post is within Specialist Clinics - this is a group of 7 highly specialist regional outpatient services - Spasticity Clinic, Multiple Sclerosis Clinic, Neuromuscular Clinic, Non-Traumatic Spinal Injury Clinic, Young Adults Clinic, Complex Neuro Rehab and Intrathecal Baclofen.</p> <p>You will work as a multidisciplinary team including Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Speech &amp; Language Therapists, Counsellor and Psychologist.</p>

  <p></p><p>As a Physiotherapist who is a Botulinum Toxin Injector for Spasticity, the post holder will work across all 7 services within Specialist Clinics but will predominantly work within Spasticity Clinic.</p> <p>The purpose of the role is to provide robust clinical and professional leadership ensuring that the clinical strategic aims and objectives for the Service are delivered and achieved.</p> <p>The post holder will assess, treat, and manage patients as appropriate and in keeping with their clinical expertise and they will work with all services to provide dedicated support to patients.</p> <p>The post holder will provide clinical expertise and leadership to the Specialist Clinics service within Birmingham Community Healthcare (BCHC) NHS Foundation Trust.</p>   <h3>About us</h3>
