practitioners with 3 years post qualification experience, with a BACP/UKCP

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The successful post-holder(s) will be able to
work creatively and independently with young people and families (parents and/or
carers) to achieve their goals. They will offer individual and group
interventions as required. They will empower families (parents/carers) and
young people to manage complex situations and needs.</p><p>This role requires a minimum commitment of 32

Our Southend, Essex and Thurrock services cover 144 schools currently. We currently cover 48% of secondary and primary school within those areas.</p> <p>The MHST deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions in educational settings for children experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties aged 4 to 18 years old. The teams also have a strong focus on whole school approaches to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people.</p> <p>The MHSTs build on the support already in place from school counsellors, nurses, educational psychologists and the voluntary sector to support those with mild to moderate mental health issues in school and will help children and young people with more severe needs to access the right support and provide a link to the CAMHS services.</p>

  <p>The post holder will be responsible for delivering interventions within MHSTs in and round schools and colleges whilst receiving clinical supervision.</p> <p>Act as an autonomous, registered (where appropriate) practitioner who is legally and professionally accountable for own unsupervised actions guided by the professional code of conduct and Trust guidelines and protocols.</p> <p>Initiate referrals to other health professional specialist services and agencies.</p> <p>To provide expert emotional wellbeing and mental health support as part of plans to transform CYPs mental health through the NHS Long- Term Plan.</p> <p>To undertake school based and community-based assessments, risk assessments, care plans and to deliver a range of early interventions to CYP with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties.</p> <p>Responsible, and accountable, for service delivery to clients/patients, via NICE compliant pathways and in accordance with the crisis care concordat.</p> <p>Provide leadership and to promote initiative, creativity and motivation in the MHSTs.</p> <p>To routinely measure clinical outcomes and deliver evidence-based interventions.</p> <p>To communicate complex patient related information facilitating positive outcomes and ensuring collaborative working.</p> <p>To support peers and team leader and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative. Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Elekta Linear Accelerators and a Halcyon system with Ethos software--enabling the delivery of advanced adaptive radiotherapy.  We use CRAD SGRT throughout the department. We also operate a busy and well-established brachytherapy service, treating a range of prostate, gynaecological, and skin cancers. Imaging is supported by a Toshiba wide bore CT scanner.</p>
<p>This competency-based role offers flexibility and scope for development. You will have the opportunity to rotate through all key areas of the department--including CT, pre-treatment checking, treatment, and brachytherapy--or, if preferred, specialise in an area aligned with your experience and interests.</p>
<p>We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to working. The role will include participation in shift patterns and extended hours to meet service capacity and patient demand. <p>Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.</p>

    <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
    <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
    <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
    <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
    <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>

We are currently recruiting for placements in Hartsdown Academy CT9 5RE&nbsp;on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.     <li><strong>Please note that not all schools will have placements available, but we will try our best to match you to a convenient placement.</strong></li>
    <li><strong>We recruit for Counsellors to start in school in January, April or September in line with school term time. Please note the recruitment and onboarding process can take 2-3 months.</strong></li>
    <li><strong>Please only apply for one vacancy as multiple applications are rejected on the system. If successful upon interview, you will have the opportunity to discuss your location preference.</strong></li>
    <li><strong>All successful applicants would need a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) or Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check that is&nbsp;enhanced, checked for&nbsp;children’s and adult’s barred list, and is&nbsp;registered on the Update Service.</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.</p>
<ul type="disc">
    <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
    <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
    <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
    <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
    <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>
    <li>Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, and are recognised by the BACP and UKCP.</li>
    <li>A placement is an excellent stepping stone into a job opportunity and career with Place2Be, over&nbsp;⅔&nbsp;of our clinical staff were once Counsellors on Placement.</li>
    <li>We have places available in our projects in both primary and secondary schools nationwide.</li>

<p>*<strong>Counting your hours</strong></p>
<p>All clinical hours gained on placement can be used towards accreditation with a body such as BACP and UKCP. However if you need to gain clinical hours for your course, we would strongly advise that you check with your course tutor as to whether child hours are accepted before applying. If your course does not accept child hours but you would like to gain counselling experience of working with Children and Young People, you can still apply for a Place2Be placement as a second placement.</p>

		<h2>About You</h2>

<p>You will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist or studying towards one of these professions at the following levels:</p>
<ul type="disc">
    <li>Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above). If you are in your first year you will have completed a full academic year Certificate Course in Counselling or the equivalent of 9 - 12 months.</li>
    <li>Degree, MSc or MA in Counselling or Psychotherapy - if you are in your first year you will have relevant experience of direct work with children.</li>
