If so, join St Mary’s Hospital as a Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist to provide strategic leadership, expert clinical oversight and recovery-focused care for people within the criminal justice system. Acting as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act, you will ensure the highest standards of psychiatric care across medium and low secure services.</p>
<p>In this role, you will lead the clinical management of a defined caseload, overseeing psychiatric assessments, formulations, and treatment planning. You will provide specialist advice to courts, probation, prison services and MAPPA, and prepare reports for Mental Health Review Tribunals, hospital managers’ hearings, and the Ministry of Justice. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams—including forensic social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists—you will ensure coordinated care and effective implementation of the Care Programme Approach.</p>
<p>Beyond clinical leadership, you will play a key role in service development, shaping strategy, and contributing to pathway reconfiguration to meet evolving needs. You will actively participate in clinical governance, audits, and risk management processes, supporting quality improvement and compliance with CQC/HIW standards. Your responsibilities will also include teaching and supervision of trainee psychiatrists and junior medical staff, as well as leading research and quality-improvement projects to inform best practice.</p>

<p>Arbury Court are seeking a Full Time Consultant Psychiatrist, preferably on the Specialist Register for Forensic to run a medium or low secure ward depending on preference.</p>

Arbury Court is situated outside Warrington, just off the M62 and close to Liverpool, Manchester, and Chester. &nbsp;There are excellent transport links, making the hospital highly commutable from across the North West.&nbsp;

You will implement individual and group interventions, adjusting and refining formulations to meet patient needs. This is a multidisciplinary team including Consultant Psychiatrist and Consultant Paediatricians, Clinical Psychology, Family Therapy, CBT and SFP trained staff, Nursing, Support Worker, Assistant Practitioner and Assistant Psychology.</p> <p>The successful applicant will provide a substantial contribution to the clinical work of the team and will hold full case management responsibility for their workload.   <p><strong>Clinical Psychologist - Older Adult Specialty Band 7/8a - 1.0 wte</strong></p> <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical psychologist with interest in working with older people to join the Salford Older Adult Community Mental Health Team. </p> <p>We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide specialist psychological assessments, formulation and interventions to older people and their families. The successful candidate will also support team interventions for individuals living with dementia. There will be opportunities for consultation work and training, and involvement in developments and audit.</p> <p>The service has strong links with local Clinical Psychology Training Programs, the wider Trust OA psychology service and Northwest FPOP.</p> <p>The Psychology resource in the service currently consists of a Senior Clinical Psychologist and an assistant psychologist</p> <p>Applicants must be eligible for registration as Chartered Clinical Psychologists with the British Psychological Society and registration with the HCPC</p> <p>We are pleased to be able to offer this post as a preceptorship for suitably experienced candidates and would welcome applications from those who are recently qualified. We would offer the post as a band 7 preceptorship until the necessary experience and competencies are met, upon which the post would move to an 8a. </p> <p>The post involves community work and home visiting, so applicants must be able to demonstrate ability/offer a strategy to undertake visits safely and efficiently.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Direct clinical work with older people with a range of organic and functional difficulties. This will include, delivering evidence based therapies, carrying out complex assessment and developing shared formulations.</p>
<p>Working with the team to develop psychological and trauma informed ways of understanding distress.</p>
<p>Supporting and developing research, audit and quality improvement.</p>
