<p>Join the team as an Associate Specialist at Ty Gwyn Hall and deliver high-quality clinical services to service users in an open rehabilitation setting. The hospital provides 40 male and female beds across four wards and offers a supportive environment where recovery and independence are at the heart of care. </p>
<p>Working closely with the Responsible Clinician and a multi-disciplinary team, you will ensure that each service user receives a holistic, person-centred treatment programme based on the recovery model. Families and friends play an active role in this process, helping individuals progress towards more independent living wherever possible.</p>
<p>As an Associate Specialist, you will take responsibility for reviewing patients’ mental state, managing physical health concerns and ensuring comprehensive health screening upon admission. You will prepare reports for tribunals and hospital managers’ hearings under consultant supervision, and depending on experience, may provide oral evidence. Your role will also involve completing discharge documentation, seeking collateral histories and contributing to clinical governance through audits, research and teaching. Collaboration is key, and you will work effectively with colleagues to maintain medical cover and provide prospective cover during leave periods.</p>


<p><strong>As an Associate Specialist, you will be:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Ensuring an adequate handover to colleagues including out of hours.</li>
    <li>Reviewing the mental state of patients as per the hospital procedure.</li>
    <li>Ensuring that each patient has a full physical health screen upon admission including physical examination, ECG and bloods (the hospital has some phlebotomists).</li>

  <p>We are pleased to invite applications to join the Training Team at National Imaging Academy Wales (NIAW). NIAW are looking for keen Sonographers Trainer to support the delivery of high-quality Radiology and Radiographic training.</p>
<p>The bank worker will work within the multidisciplinary NIAW team to deliver clinical ultrasound training, clinical supervision, undertake competency assessments and/or deliver simulation support at the NIAW. The bank worker will work with the team to support the delivery of the NIAW 3-year strategy.</p>

a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist at our forensic mental health hospital, Heatherwood
Court. Comprising of a Locked Rehabilitation Service (1 female ward) and a Low
Secure Service (1 male and 2 female wards), Heatherwood Court treats patients with
complex needs, including severe and enduring mental illness, complex trauma,
and difficulties consistent with a diagnosis of personality disorder. </p><p>We are looking for applicants with
experience of working with service users with complex needs and risk behaviours
along with those who have an interest and prior experience of delivering
evidenced-based interventions for people with personality disorder and/or
complex mental health problems. We are particularly interested in candidates
who have received DBT training, but would offer training to suitable candidates
on appointment.</p><p>This post will join an established, dynamic
team of psychologists including a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, , Forensic Psychologist and
Assistant Psychologists, working as part of a specialist multi-disciplinary

  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 7 Prosthetist to join the NHS prosthetic service based in Rookwood Hospital, Cardiff. This role involves delivering a high quality prosthetic service across both adult and paediatric caseloads including those with complex needs. The successful candidate will also provide a highly specialised service for war veterans, utilising advanced techniques and state of the art prosthetics.</p>
<p>The Prosthetic and Amputee Rehabilation Centre ( PARC) in Cardiff provides care and support for approximately 1700 users. The service provides individualised assessment, the issue, maintenance and repair of prosthetic devices and ongoing clinical patient care. The prosthetic team currently consists of 9 Prosthetists and 11 technical staff offering a clinical service to a large and varied caseload supported by a full multidisciplinary team. The multidisciplinary team consist of consultants, prosthetists, psychologists, physiotherapists, specialist nurses, occupational therapists, admin and technical support, all working together in a patient focussed service. The prosthetic clinical service is supported by onsite manufacture by a highly skilled technical workforce.</p>

Advanced Prosthetist

  <p>The Home Treatment Crisis Resolution Team is based at Bronllys Hospital, near Brecon. The team provides Acute Psychiatric Care to individuals at home rather than inpatient care. The service operates between 9:00am and 9:00pm, 7 days a week. The service is provided to the populations of Breconshire, Radnorshire and Ystradgynlais. The team works closely with the Community Mental Health Teams based in the catchment area and inpatient ward.</p> <p>The role includes assessing the suitability of home treatment for individuals presenting with acute mental illness or severe distress, which can be safely managed in the person's home.   <p>To work as a Team member in providing a Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Service (CR/HT) in Powys. The CR/HT service will provide a service for adults who are experiencing a Mental Health crisis and are at risk of admission to Hospital. Intensive Home Treatment will be provided in collaboration with the service user and in the least restrictive setting, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year as per rota. CR/HT will also facilitate the early discharge of those admitted to inpatient units, through intensive but time limited intervention in the community.</p> <p>The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.</p>

  <p>We are seeking an experienced and compassionate counsellor to join our team and help lead the delivery of a responsive and person-centred bereavement service.</p>
<p>The post holder will provide high-quality pre- and post-bereavement counselling to individuals and families, based on evidence-based practice and in line with statutory requirements and NHS policies. Working across hospital and community settings, you will support both adults and children, ensuring safe, individualised, and effective care.</p>
<p>This role also involves co-ordinating the day-to-day running of the counselling service, including the supervision and development of counsellors, students, and volunteers. You will contribute to service planning and development, and be responsible for maintaining high standards of practice and clinical governance.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and bring both clinical expertise and leadership experience within a bereavement or counselling setting.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The role involves day-to-day coordination of the Bereavement Support Service, including the management and support of a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of high-quality bereavement care across the Hywel Dda University Health Board area, underpinned by research evidence, best practice, and clinical expertise.</p> <p>They will hold shared responsibility for managing a defined caseload independently, using recognised assessment tools and clinical judgement to deliver holistic, personalised therapeutic care. This includes assessing, monitoring, and coordinating support programmes in partnership with clients and other professionals, tailored to individual needs, context, and culture -- with the aim of promoting health and empowerment.</p> <p>The post holder will be expected to recognise, report, and respond appropriately to any unsafe practices, while actively promoting high standards of care. <p>Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.</p>

    <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
    <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
    <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
    <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
    <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>
    <li>Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, and are recognised by the BACP and UKCP.</li>
    <li>A placement is an excellent stepping stone into a job opportunity and career with Place2Be, over&nbsp;⅔&nbsp;of our clinical staff were once Counsellors on Placement.</li>

Through our professional development programme, we are training around 1,200 Counsellors on Placement each year who build their mental health and counselling skills and experience through practice in our partner schools. We also provide a range of professional development programmes on mental health and wellbeing for school leaders, teachers and other professionals who work with children and young people, so we can help to build ‘mentally healthy’ schools and communities where all children can thrive and flourish.</p>

<p>Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.</p>
<ul type="disc">
    <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
    <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
    <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
    <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
    <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>
    <li>Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, and are recognised by the BACP and UKCP.</li>
    <li>A placement is an excellent stepping stone into a job opportunity and career with Place2Be, over&nbsp;⅔&nbsp;of our clinical staff were once Counsellors on Placement.</li>
    <li>We have places available in our projects in both primary and secondary schools nationwide.</li>

<p>*<strong>Counting your hours</strong></p>
<p>All clinical hours gained on placement can be used towards accreditation with a body such as BACP and UKCP. However if you need to gain clinical hours for your course, we would strongly advise that you check with your course tutor as to whether child hours are accepted before applying. If your course does not accept child hours but you would like to gain counselling experience of working with Children and Young People, you can still apply for a Place2Be placement as a second placement.</p>

<p>You will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist or studying towards one of these professions at the following levels:</p>
<ul type="disc">
    <li>Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above). If you are in your first year you will have completed a full academic year Certificate Course in Counselling or the equivalent of 9 - 12 months.</li>
    <li>Degree, MSc or MA in Counselling or Psychotherapy - if you are in your first year you will have relevant experience of direct work with children.</li>
</ul>
