<h2>Fully remote, full-time internship for aspiring clinical psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors.</h2>Our Clinical Psychology Internship equips aspiring mental health professionals worldwide with essential skills and practical client-facing experience, preparing them for careers in clinical psychology, coaching, psychotherapy, or counselling.Interns complete an intensive one-month crash course covering a toolkit of evidence-based techniques from Motivational Interviewing, Coaching, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). They then provide free online, one-to-one coaching to global clients who otherwise lack access to mental health care, initially promoting behaviour change (e.g., diet, sleep, reducing procrastination) and later progressing to clients experiencing depression or anxiety.<h3>About Overcome</h3>Overcome is a UK-registered charity (Charity Number: 1191308) providing online mental health coaching worldwide, particularly to underserved communities in developing countries. We are a trusted placement provider for leading universities such as UCL, Bath, and Loughborough.<h3>Internship Overview</h3>This internship is a fully remote, unpaid, full-time (~30 hours/week) role. Croydon Drop In (CDI) are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Qualified Volunteer Counsellor to work within our award-winning Voluntary Sector services. The post-holder will work within our safeguarding protocols to provide safe interventions for children and young people using evidence-based methodologies. The post holder will safely work with people across different cultural backgrounds and ages and will be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Counselling is delivered by experienced qualified contracted counsellors, and our team is supported by qualified volunteer counsellors who wish to give back to the community, require a stepping stone to a paid counselling role or are independently working toward increasing their client contact hours or are working toward their accreditation.
To meet the standard criteria you will:

<li>Ba a graduate or at post graduate level in counselling or have completed a level 4 Diploma or equivalent in Therapeutic Counselling</li>
<li>Be a Registered Member or an Accredited Member of the BACP membership or equivalent with a professional standards authority (e.g. UKCP, HPC)</li>
<li>Have two years minimum duration of personal counselling or psychotherapy.</li>
<li>Commit to delivering 4 hours counselling (1 evening) per week to young people of the service</li>
<li>Have 1 years’ experience of delivering counselling in a counselling agency or similar setting</li>

Croydon Drop In (CDI) are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Student Volunteer Counsellors on Placement to work within our award-winning Voluntary Sector services. The post-holder will work within our safeguarding protocols to provide safe interventions for children and young people using evidence-based methodologies. Our team is supported by student practitioners completing their final year of their practitioner studies.
Please note:
Counselling training providers usually require you to obtain a certain amount of client contact hours with adults i.e. 18 years plus, therefore it’s important to note that the majority of clients accessing our CDI counselling services are under 18 years of age. As a student placement provider, CDI makes for an ideal 2nd placement that will ensure you have adequate young people contact hours, largely under 18 years of age, providing you with the learning experiences you need to meet the competency requirements of your training course and provider. It is important to check with your training provider, the cap on the number of under 18 years of age clients permitted for your course.

			Place2Be is the leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert professional development to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, families,&nbsp;teachers&nbsp;and school staff. The charity currently provides an embedded mental health service in 500 UK primary and secondary schools supporting a school community of around 243,000 children and young people.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Our teams provide a range of services in our partner schools to build resilience early in life through counselling, creative work and play and support a child’s ability to engage in school life.&nbsp; Our work, focused on early intervention, is part of the comprehensive CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) system.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Through our professional development programme, we are training around 1,200 Counsellors on Placement each year who build their mental health and counselling skills and experience through practice in our partner schools. We also provide a range of professional development programmes on mental health and wellbeing for school leaders, teachers and other professionals who work with children and young people, so we can help to build ‘mentally healthy’ schools and communities where all children can thrive and flourish.
We continue to pilot,&nbsp;trial&nbsp;and explore new ways in which we can develop our practice as well as share learning, expertise and findings from the robust evidence and evaluation we gather. HRH The&nbsp;Princess of Wales&nbsp;is our Royal Patron and Place2Be is one of the founding charity partners of Heads Together. We also work collaboratively with a range of charities and expert organisations to leverage best-in-class knowledge and expertise to inform, develop and improve outcomes for the children,&nbsp;families&nbsp;and schools we support.&nbsp;We ask our staff team to share our core values of perseverance, integrity,&nbsp;compassion&nbsp;and creativity, and to have the skills and patience to support some of the UK’s most vulnerable children and families.
