<p>A qualified therapist/ counsellor, you’ve been working in the profession for at least a year, and now it’s time to take the next step.&nbsp; As a Place2Be Supervising Counsellor&nbsp;your main focus is assessment and formulation of referrals and supporting and overseeing the work of the Counsellors on Placement enabling them to deliver interventions across all year groups and achieve the best outcomes for the young people we support. You’ll still deliver some therapeutic work with children yourself, including some group/whole class work, but ultimately, you’ll be shaping clinical delivery of services within the school you operate. </p>

Counselor

<h2>Job overview</h2><p>We are offering placement at the Dunraven Secondary Phase to Counselling or Psychotherapy students who require practical counselling experience with 11–18-year-old students to supplement their studies.</p><p>The number of clinical hours will be dependent on trainees’ availability; however, we would advise a minimum of 4 hours per week so this can be beneficial to your studies and our students.</p><p>You will be working with secondary school-aged students and will demonstrate an ability to deal with confidential matters in a supportive and therapeutic manner, the primary focus being the well-being of our students.</p><p>The school’s aim is “Excellence for All”, and the trustees wish to offer such placements to candidates of significant ability and enthusiasm who are aware of and stimulated by the challenges and potential of a successful, multi-ethnic coeducational school.</p><p><strong>Start date: </strong>Not applicable. Upping Ward is our 15 bed intensive Support Service for women with a diagnosis of personality disorder and complex mental health needs. The service pathway provides a robust programme of care for women with challenging high risk behaviour who experience difficulties with engagement with therapeutic programmes. We aim to meet the needs of these women, who may have had previous inappropriate placements, in a less restrictive setting.</p>

Situated in the East End of London, the hospital has four different specialist wards including PICU, acute admissions and personality disorder services.
We accept emergency and planned, pre-assessed admissions. Our aim is to support individual service user recovery and integration back into the community, as quickly as possible. We have a multi-disciplinary team of specialists and offer a very broad range of therapies.</p>

North London Foundation NHS Trust is at the forefront of this transformation, developing a more holistic, recovery oriented, biopsychosocial approach to supporting people with mental health difficulties, in partnership with primary care, other community NHS providers and the voluntary sector. The aim is to build support systems that reach the whole mental health population with a focus on prevention and sustained recovery delivered by multi-agency collaboration. Each population unit is based on the footprint of a Primary Care Network (PCN), bringing together NHS, voluntary sector, peer support and community organisations. These relationships will be central to the new community mental health model.Clinical Associate Psychologists are an innovative role in mental health services, that are core to this community transformation and offering high quality clinical care to the Camden borough.We have an opportunity for a qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist (Band 6) to join our South Camden Core Team on a full-time basis. They will join a team of Senior Counselling Psychologist and Senior Clinical Psychologist, CBT therapists as well complex emotional needs psychologists and structured clinical management practitioners, all of whom are linked to the multi-disciplinary team, GPs and voluntary services sector.Interested applicants are encouraged to make contact for an informal conversation.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p></p><p>The CAP role is central to the team's psychological provision, with opportunities for group interventions, 1:1 therapy using a Structured Clinical Management model and other evidence based approaches, alongside joint assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation.</p> <p>There will be opportunities for leadership, research, service development and consultation to the system, which will involve liaising with professionals involved in the in care of the individual. The teams work closely as MDTs, with weekly clinical meetings where complex cases can be thought about and MDT formulations can be developed.
