<p>At the Hellingly Centre, we specialise in the assessment and treatment of people with complex and enduring mental health needs, who have had contact with the criminal justice system.</p>
<p>You will be working with service users who have committed criminal offences, but have also often been victims themselves. Service users regularly experience stigma for both mental health and offending history, so our role is to develop trusting and safe relationships which balance being compassionate, collaborative and supportive with sound risk assessment and management skills.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>As an AHP therapy assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting service users to enhance their health and wellbeing.</p>
<p>You will:</p>

<li>Work together with allied health professions, service users' and their care teams to support effective communication and the engagement in a range of meaningful activities.</li>
<li>Provide feedback and contribute to holistic care plans, aiding service users' recovery and journey through secure services.</li>
<li>Have the opportunity to assist with planning and delivering individual and group sessions, across various domains, including: nature-based - at the on-site allotment, ward gardens and in the community, the Recovery Through Activity programme, education, other vocational roles, e.g. the on-site shop, cooking and baking, music, sensory exploration and modulation, physical activity, art and creativity and participation opportunities.</li>

  <p>The Hellingly Centre is a modern purpose built medium secure unit specialising in the assessment and treatment of people with complex and enduring mental health needs, who have had contact with the criminal justice system.</p> <p>There are 4 specialist wards (2 male medium secure wards - Oak and Ash, 1 female medium secure ward - Blossom and 1 male low secure ward - Elm), each with a strong multi-disciplinary team.</p> <p>We have a range of therapy facilities within the centre including: a gym, shop, music, woodwork and art rooms and Badger's Caf and allotment space on-site.</p> <p>The centre is situated within the beautiful Hellingly Country Park and the Cuckoo Trail is also very close by. The local town, Hailsham is under 10 minutes away by car. There is a direct bus link to Eastbourne.</p> <p>There is a small gym on-site which is available for staff to use.   <p>We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our team at QEHB on a permanent basis. The successful candidate would work in a 70/30 split within medicine the majority of the time (medicine would cover respiratory, emergency department and acute medical wards) and on the Stroke unit with the remainder of the time.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The successful candidate would work within the Acute Medicine and Stroke SLT team at QEHB serving a diverse clinical caseload. You would work closely with the SLT Team Leaders, Specialist SLTs, Band 5 SLTs and Band 4 peers to provide an excellent level of care to our patient group. The role is permanent is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Edgbaston Birmingham.</p><p>The successful candidate would assist and support the work of the Speech and Language Therapy service to patients in hospital with swallowing and communication needs including aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, cognitive-communication changes and dysphonia. This will include the provision of communication and swallowing therapy, assisting at mealtimes, completing dysphagia screening tests (DST), completing referrals and liaising with patients, families, carers and the MDT.</p><p>The post holder will work closely members with of the multidisciplinary team at the QEHB with particular emphasis of close working relationships with the occupational therapy, physiotherapy team, dietetic team and nursing/medical teams as well as with carers and voluntary organisations.</p><p>We have a large team who share a caseload of diverse patient cohorts so being a team player is essential. We would welcome a candidate who is has experience working with patients in specialist areas but our supportive team will be willing to support your development in these areas.</p>

E.g. re-allocating work to cover unexpected staff absence.  At times you will be expected to work clinically and deliver direct patient care, though the majority of your role will be clinical triage via telephone. 
You must have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills as you will be coordinating care for a large number of complex patients.
You will provide clinical leadership, including line management of Band 5 Staff Nurses, and oversee line management of our Band 3 Nursing Assistants.
You must be able to think on your feet, problem solve and juggle conflicting priorities as well as motivate others in challenging times and utilise the resources available to you effectively.
The hours of work are 17:00pm-22:00pm over 7 days a week (including bank holidays).  The role is based from Hunslet Health Centre, though it is expected that you could travel across the city of Leeds during your shift to deliver patient care. 
It would be expected that you are available to work on a rota over 7 evenings per week, 365 days per year.

Our Specialist Perinatal Mental Health team has been growing over the past 9 years to provide a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to caring for women experiencing mental health difficulties during the perinatal period. The service receive accreditation in January 2024.</p>
<p>We are a county wide service with a base currently in Truro. However, due to expansion we are seeking an additional base in the east of the county. It is expected that you will work in either the west or the east of the county with a base that is near to your geographical work/home area.</p>
<p>The team consists of qualified and trainee nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, nursery nurses, a health visitor, psychologists, psychiatrist, administration, and peer support workers led by a dedicated service lead, supported by two deputies. The team work collaboratively to support recovery and improving bonds with baby in the crucial first 1001 days.</p>

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>The maternity team at the University Hospital of
North Durham are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is keen and passionate
about delivering and promoting maternity care in the acute hospital setting. Support
workers provide care to mothers, birthing people, their newborn infants and
their families through pregnancy, labour and during the postnatal period. Their
role is integral to the successful deployment of maternity services. </p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p> Maternity Support Workers (MSWs) work in line
with the nationally recognised NHS Maternity support worker competency,
education and career development framework. The successful applicant will be
provided with the appropriate training to meet the requirements of the
framework. </p><p>Support workers in
maternity settings may:</p><p> support the work of registered and non-registered
practitioners</p><p> work under direct or indirect supervision, and/or as
lone workers, where appropriate</p><p>









 work across service settings and
professional boundaries, according to the needs of women, their newborn infants
and their families and local service provision</p>
