The Brighton and Hove Clinic is a specialist inpatient eating disorder unit for children and adolescents.
Reporting directly to the consultant clinical psychologist, you will be responsible for the delivery of evidence-based individual and group interventions, facilitation of formulation meetings and supervision of other members of the psychology team. You will form part of a diverse multi-disciplinary team, with opportunities for joint working, family liaison and systemic interventions. You may also be involved in the facilitation of staff reflective practice sessions; nursing team debriefs and the design and delivery of training to the multi-disciplinary team.

As an Inpatient Psychologist you will be:

 <li>Providing specialist psychological assessments, and individualised evidence-based psychological interventions for patients with severe eating disorders and complex mental health difficulties.</li>
 <li>Providing evidence-based and formulation-driven psychological perspectives to multidisciplinary risk management, care planning and decision-making.</li>

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
<ul>
 <li>Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent if trained overseas).</li>
 <li>Registration with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist.</li>
 <li>We will also consider applicants from newly qualified clinical/counselling psychologists, or from those who are about to qualify (please clearly state in the application when you will receive HCPC registration).</li>
 <li>Knowledge and understanding of eating disorders and related comorbidities (e.g. anxiety, trauma, depression, self-harm), and the impact these on both children and adolescents, and their families.</li>
 <li>Prior experience in eating disorders is desirable but not essential for this position. Experience working with patients in CAMHS settings or with neurodivergence, trauma and personality disorders is also desirable.</li>
 <li>Post qualification training in the specialist application of therapeutic models relevant for working with children and adolescents with eating disorders and other comorbidities (or for newly qualified psychologists an interest in undertaking further specialist training).</li>
 <li>Experience of supervising assistant psychologist or trainee clinical psychologists.</li>
 <li>Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for patient’s psychological care and treatment as a qualified professional within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.</li>

Brighton &amp; Hove Clinic provides a CAMHS Tier 4 eating disorder service for young people aged 12 to 18 years with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder: or those with eating difficulties with other co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder and self-harming behaviours. Our patients can also present with co-morbid attachment difficulties, ASC (both diagnosed and undiagnosed) and with emotion regulation difficulties. We provide individualised and formulation driven treatment programmes to support children and adolescents to begin their recovery and transition safely back into the community. Interventions include individual therapy, systemic family therapy, occupational therapy, therapeutic and activity groups, meal support sessions and a psychoeducational family support group.
The role is an exciting opportunity to join an established and passionate psychology team (made up of a Consultant clinical psychologist, Highly specialist cognitive-behaviour therapist, Apprentice clinical associate psychologist and Assistant psychologist), whilst also contributing to the development of an individualised and patient-centred service committed to improving clinical practice and effectiveness. The service has 21 beds across two wards in a locked rehabilitation setting providing treatment for women with mental disorders including personality disorders. The wards are well supported by a full complement of multidisciplinary team.&nbsp;
You will act as a Consultant / Responsible Clinician for patients in this setting. You will have CCT in General Adult or Forensic psychiatry and experience of working with and leading multidisciplinary teams.&nbsp; You will be part of an environment that specialises in providing rehabilitation utilising positive behavioural support principles and empowering service users in their recovery.&nbsp;

Pinhoe View is a 36 bedded inpatient service which includes another full time Consultant Psychiatrist and two full-time associate specialists. In this role,you will have the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team (Nursing,OT, Psychology and Social Work) to provide care and treatment for up to 16 patients supported by an Associate Specialist doctor.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist some of your key responsibilities will include management of complex cases, formulating care plans and treatments for individual needs of service users, and guiding on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.
