<p>This is an opportunity for a qualified counsellor to join our team. You will be working in a supportive team environment where you can benefit from flexible working whilst supporting adults by providing specialist bereavement counselling from Glangwili General Hospital site.</p>
<p>The Bereavement Support Service is a specialist Counselling Service within Carmarthenshire. The successful applicant will be based in Carmarthen, however will need to be willing to travel to other sites within Carmarthenshire if required, such as our partner site at Ty Bryngwyn. We offer a blended model of engagement, including the use of virtual platforms as well as face to face.</p>
<p>The applicant will require experience working within a team and in providing bereavement counselling.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p></p><p>You will be working within the Bereavement Support Service providing counselling to service users within Carmarthenshire, however you will need to be willing to work across the county of Carmarthenshire within Hywel Dda University Health Board if required. You will be conducting assessments and providing counselling supportwith a mixed model approach face to face, telephone and online<strong>.</strong> You will be required to work autonomously as part of a team, alongside and in partnership with other Healthcare professionals and Services within clinical settings.</p>
<p>The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.</p>

However if you need to gain clinical hours for your course, we would strongly advise that you check with your course tutor as to whether child hours are accepted before applying. If your course does not accept child hours but you would like to gain counselling experience of working with Children and Young People, you can still apply for a Place2Be placement as a second placement.</p>

<p>You will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist or studying towards one of these professions at the following levels:</p>
<ul type="disc">
    <li>Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above). If you are in your first year you will have completed a full academic year Certificate Course in Counselling or the equivalent of 9 - 12 months.</li>
    <li>Degree, MSc or MA in Counselling or Psychotherapy - if you are in your first year you will have relevant experience of direct work with children.</li>

<p>Our CrossReach Perinatal East team is a values-led service committed to delivering high-quality therapeutic support to expectant parents and parents of children under three who are facing emotional and psychological challenges. Through compassionate, ethical and professional practice, we provide life-changing and life-enhancing support. We work collaboratively to create safe spaces for healing and growth, empowering clients to navigate their journeys with dignity and hope.</p> <p>As a Volunteer Counsellor with CrossReach in our Perinatal East Service, you will provide a professional counselling service to clients accessing perinatal support. You will be able to provide the name and contact details of your external supervisor and be willing to meet PVG requirements.</p> <p>We are looking for volunteers with availability to volunteer on Monday afternoons, Wednesdays and/or Thursdays, and we will discuss at interview your availability, the number of clients you will see, your associated case work, attendance at group supervision, and the number of clinical hours you are able to volunteer at interview.</p> <p>CrossReach Counselling is an organisational member of COSCA.
