  <p><strong>Are you a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist seeking a new challenge?</strong></p> <p>A full time opportunity has arisen for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join the Oxfordshire Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team and Maternal Mental Health Service in a development role. The right candidate will work across both teams to play a key role in providing evidence-based treatments to perinatal patients across Oxfordshire, as well as supervision, training and consultation.</p> <p>We are looking for a skilled psychologist who is motivated to develop towards clinical leadership and service development, as well as the provision of specialist supervision and support to more junior members of staff.You will have experience of working alongside a range of other professionals to provide psychological advice and consultation regarding formulation and treatment.</p> <p>Our ideal candidate will have experience of providing psychological assessment and intervention for adults in the perinatal period with severe and/or complex mental health difficulties.</p> <p>We welcome applications from newly or soon-to-be qualified clinical or counselling psychologists.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>This role is crucial in ensuring that patients get timely access to high quality specialist psychological treatments within the Oxfordshire Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team. As part of the role, you will:</p> <ul>  <li>Provide psychological assessment and intervention for adults with severe and/or complex mental health difficulties presenting in the perinatal period and their families in outpatient, community and inpatient settings as required. This may include the use of digital technology.</li>  <li>Supervise and support the psychological assessment and interventions provided by assistant and trainee psychologists and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment, dependent on experience.</li>  <li>Provide ad hoc advice, consultation and supervision on clients' psychological care to colleagues and other professionals as delegated by the Principal Clinical Psychologist.</li>  <li>Work towards the standards, duties and responsibilities expected of a band 8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, which, if achieved in line with developmental reviews, will lead to an opportunity for promotion to band 8a.</li> </ul> <p>You will excel at working autonomously, managing a caseload and taking responsibility for the governance of your psychological practice within a multidisciplinary team. You will be familiar with utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development.</p>

<p>Thornford Park Hospital, part of Elysium Healthcare, is an independent 143 bedded hospital set in 23 acres of parkland on the outskirts of Newbury, Berkshire (close to the Hampshire borders).</p>
<p>We provide services for male and female patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) who require care in conditions of medium and low security. Our service users, many of whom have forensic histories, require long-term treatment and rehabilitation and present with multiple problems, challenging and high-risk behaviour and complex care needs. In addition to the mental health wards, Thornford Park has a 14-bedded low secure service for male patients with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, commissioned by NHS England, a medium/low secure service for females with a Learning Disability, and a medium secure service for males with Learning Disability. We also have two Psychiatric Intensive Care Units, one for males and one for females, providing holistic assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing crisis</p>

<p>Aspiring Psychologist - Therapist - Psychology Sociology</p> <p>An opportunity at a remarkable Special Education Needs (SEN) school has arisen for a team of learning support assistants to gain experience working with young people in an educational and therapeutic setting.</p> <p>This well-established special school and 6th Form supports up to 160 students aged between 11 to 19 years old, in classes of up to 12 individuals, supported by a teacher and one or more teaching assistants. </p> <p><strong>THE PUPILS:</strong></p> <p>All pupils have complex learning &amp; additional needs (LAN) and all are supported by an Education, Health &amp; Care Plan (EHCP), where needs include global developmental delay, autism, ADHD / ODD/ADD, anxiety, OCD, sleep apnoea, cerebral palsy, visual or hearing impairment, dyspraxia/coordination difficulties, hydrocephalus, epilepsy, Down syndrome, and speech, language &amp; communication difficulties. The majority of students join us are operating at least 4 to 6 years below chronological expectations.</p> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:</strong></p> <p>Older pupils have opportunities to do work experience and attend college as part of their educational offer. For example, some pupils are working in hotels, supermarkets and food outlets, and others are following courses in hair and beauty, and engineering at a local college.</p> <p>Tutor groups all share a common theme for the week using resources prepared to stimulate discussion and grow understanding around a range of issues.
