Consultant Psychologist

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>Here in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland (LLR), we are innovatively transforming ways of working with people with relational and emotional difficulties often described diagnostically as Personality Disorder.</p><p>As part of this, we are keen for another Principal Psychologist to join us in our secondary care psychologically-led dedicated provisionas a Clinical Lead.

The service has over 30 staff, including Psychologists, a Medical Psychotherapist, Peer Support Workers, and Mental Health Practitioners. We offer a range of psychological and psychologically-informed approaches within the tradition of trauma-informed care, including Mentalization-Based Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, and a structured clinical management approach.</p><p>We would be very keen to hear from applicants with an interest and training in any of these approaches.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>We are very pleased to be able to offer this new role to further enhance our services clinical leadership. The role will offer an exciting opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary leadership team leading the ongoing transformation of the service. You will work alongside the Consultant Clinical Lead, other Clinical Leads, and Team Managers to lead this change; offering an exciting opportunity to enhance your strategic and clinical leadership skills.</p><p>With this new role, we aim not only to strengthen the delivery of our current offers, but we have a future aspiration to also expand their scope.

You will take a key clinical leadership role in the service alongside other Clinical Leads. You will be responsible for leading the implementation and delivery of psychological interventions, supported by the Consultant Psychologist Lead, who will offer professional, managerial, and clinical supervision.</p><p>The role will offer a variety of opportunities which will include clinical leadership, direct formulation and intervention, delivering training, service development, group and 1:1 clinical supervision and consultation to others, and service evaluation. There will be opportunities to shape the role and for continued professional development in areas relevant to service delivery and development.

Principal Practitioner Psychologist 

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a developmental Band 7-8a Clinical/Forensic Psychologist or experienced 8a Clinical/Forensic Psychologist developmental to join an established team of Clinical and Forensic Psychologists in the Secure Services at Brooklands Hospital. This is a full-time position primarily based within the autism low secure service, with some hours in the LD secure services.</p> <p>The secure service ethos is to help and support people who present considerable risk to others (as well as themselves) to return to a less restrictive environment and/or the community as soon as possible.</p> <p>The contribution of psychological services is highly valued within the teams and service management and is fully integrated within collaborative multi-disciplinary teams. Positive Behavioural Support is a key component of our treatment approach and philosophy and the successful candidate will work closely with others on developing new and existing service projects, develop new and existing group programmes and provide support in training others. There is lots of personal and service development opportunity within this role.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The successful candidate will ideally have post qualification experience of working with forensic populations and/or experience of working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism who present considerable risk to others. You will use your psychological skills and experience to provide assessments, individual and group therapies, team formulations, and reflective practice.</p> <p>You may also supervise others (qualified psychologists and non-psychologists) and be involved in training others, such as ward staff and multidisciplinary colleagues. Training others and contributing to and leading on service development projects and undertaking audit and research is an important part of this role.</p> <p>The psychology department at Brooklands is a well-established and supportive service and the successful applicant will receive support to further develop their skills and knowledge, through good quality supervision and training opportunities. The teamwork from a number of different therapeutic approaches including CBT, CAT, CFT, EMDR and Schema Therapy. We provide a number of well-established and structured offence group programmes as part of the service user's comprehensive treatment pathway.</p>

With this in mind, we are looking for a Clinical Psychologist who shares our vision to use innovative approaches to enhance the quality of life and outcomes of the pupils we support. <br><br> <b>For further information regarding this vacancy please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification attached. </b> <br><br> <b>Essential Criteria:</b> <ul><li>Registered with the HCPC</li><li>Doctoral level degree in Clinical/Counselling/Forensic/Educational Psychology (or equivalent if qualified prior to introduction of relevant Doctorate)</li><li>Relevant previous experience, working in related settings or with related client group</li><li>Experience of effective multi-disciplinary working (working with both clinical and non-clinical, internal and external agencies)</li><li>Experience of effectively communicating with/working with families/relatives and carers </li><li>Experience of effectively working at different systems within an organisation e.g. service development, group and individual levels.</li><li>Experience of working via a model of: 'assess, plan, do and review </li><li>Experience of effectively using consultation as a method of service delivery.</li><li>Adequate competence in all core areas of psychological practice, meets HCPC practice standards.</li><li>Knowledge of client group and their needs. </li><li>Knowledge of trauma informed practice and neuro-diversity. </li><li>Ability to develop formulations and use these to inform clinical intervention plans and recommendations for others.</li><li>Ability to develop and deliver training to different cohorts of people </li><li>Ability to write coherent and accurate clinical records, including observation records, consultation records, reports and intervention plans </li><li>Excellent communication with people on complex matters and ideas and in complex situations.</li><li>Effective IT skills, or aptitude to learn effective IT skills, to use core computer programmes and platforms. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with a range of professionals, problem solving with others to achieve excellent service development outcomes. </li><li>Ongoing evidence of CPD. </li><li>Ability to use evaluation tools to demonstrate and improve service effectiveness and outcomes.</li><li>Ability to make independent clinical decisions when necessary.</li><li>Excellent time management and organisational skills. </li><li>Ability to prioritise multiple work demands and meet work deadlines. </li><li>Undertake relevant Group induction training on commencement in post. </li><li>Commitment to the values of the organisation. </li><li>Flexible approach to working environments. </li><li>Ability and willingness to travel on company business. </li><li>Full driving licence and access to a car. </li></ul> <b>Desirable</b> <ul><li>Experience of working with specific client group (e.g. neuro-diverse and/or social, emotional and mental health) and setting type (e.g. schools and/or residential care). </li><li>Experience of providing supervision to others. </li> . click apply for full job details</ul>

Adults Clinical Psychologist

<p>Are you an experience Clinical Psychologist - looking to work as an expert witness, along side your everyday clinical role or something to bring in an extra income?</p> <p>Are you HCPC registered with 12 months of post qualification experience as a Registered Clinical Psychologist. Are you experience in the field of Psychology with an interest in Medico legal? As an Expert Witness, you will evaluate a number of PI and court related claims.</p> <p>Assessments are carried out via a standard proforma and a team of expert legal secretaries will write your report, that you must then validate. The role includes little admin as the report is purely evaluation.</p> <ul> <li>Location: You will carry out assessments at your nearest clinic in within your region.</li><li>Hours: Associate expert and zero hours - Pick the hours that work for you and sign up to receive regular work based on your expertise and knowledge.</li><li>Salary: £85- £100 per hour - location and experience dependent</li><li>Experience: You don't need any experience in the legal medico field - We can accept those who have worked in both child and adult psychology, in any setting or capacity.</li><li>Expenses: Fuel expenditure over a certain mileage. .</li></ul> <p>Whether you are Consultant or Principal Clinical Psychologist, if you are a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, looking to take on additional and ad-hoc work, this could be the ideal situation for you.</p> <p>The cases are a mixture of Medco legal/personal injury cases and Crime related OR immigration cases.
