Assistant Psychologist - Practitioner Positive Behavioural Support Location: Central Region Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary: £31,827 per annum Job Role: This Job description gives an outline of the post and is subject to review in consultation with the post holder. You will be working as part of the Therapy Team you will provide guidance, active support, plans and coaching to the teams across division supporting individuals with behaviour that challenges and supporting individuals who are impacted by a learning disability, autism, acquired brain injury and/ or other mental health challenges. You will be responsible for the implementation of PBS strategies that will improve the quality of life and service user s well-being and working with our support teams, to reduce restrictive interventions. Plan, write up and develop positive behaviour support plans which are personalised and meet the needs of those we support as well as enhance their choice &amp; independence. Leading by example, you will demonstrate strong influencing and communication skills, and will create a culture that encourages openness and transparency where the staff and service users feel fully engaged, and are empowered to innovate and improve services. You will be expected to model the values of the organisation, in all that you do. To provide psychology input under qualified psychologist and trainee psychologist supervision to the Care Team and service users; providing specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment in the limits of professional competency and experience under qualified psychologist supervision. To work under supervision within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Department s policies and procedures. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the Department at the qualified requests. The role We are looking to appoint a 0.8 to 1 WTE Clinical or Forensic Psychologist, who are HCPC registered and who has experience or an interest of working with complex and challenging patient groups. Psychology is highly valued within the service and embedded within a multi-disciplinary approach. The post holder will be fully involved in the development, delivery and evaluation of a range of assessments and formulation-led interventions. You will be joining a motivated and supportive team with a variety of therapeutic knowledge, using approaches including CBT, Schema, CFT, LMV, DBT and trauma informed care in both 1:1 and group formats. There will be opportunities for joint professional work and providing reflective practice, clinical supervision, support and training and we actively support innovation and research. You can expect to receive good support, reflective practice and supervision and will play a vital part in the promotion of this service. Participation in continued professional development is encouraged, and divisional and charity wide CPD events are held frequently. The Ward: Working Age Males (Hawkins ward) This service is a new 15 bed male medium secure ward for the assessment and treatment of working age males with a diagnosis of mental illness, personality disorder or co-morbid conditions. Hawkins ward will be one of 4 medium secure working age wards as well as an older male ward, an ABI ward and a Deaf ward, all contained in a medium secure building with various treatment and recreational facilities. The Medium Secure Division also has a blended secure women's service and Deaf community houses.
