<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>The Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) were established in Nottingham City in February 2020, providing an early intervention and preventative service for over 892 children and young people and their families so far. This includes providing support for anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties, as well as running workshops to groups of children within educational settings, on themes such as transition, resilience and wellbeing, general wellbeing hacks, worry and distractions and emotions through puberty.</p><p>Currently MHST are supporting children and young people in over 70 educational settings, which will increase over the next 18 months to around 100 sites across the city. The expansion is being funded through £1.01m from NHS England and Health Education England as part of a national initiative.</p><p>We work in partnership with the school community and other wellbeing services to develop a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing, building on what is being done already. We aim to achieve this goal through offering a range of services, including:</p><ul> <li>Improving access to mental health support and services.</li> <li>Delivering training and workshops for schools and parents</li> <li>Providing consultation to schools on mental health and wellbeing</li> <li>Individual and group interventions for children and young people experiencing difficulties with managing emotions</li> <li>And more!</li></ul>

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Gloucestershire Mental Health Support Team for the recruitment of Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner's (EMHP) or Children's Wellbeing Practitioners.</p>
<p>In line with the government's priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the EMHP role is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors.</p>
<p>Successful candidates will be employed on a full-time basis based within Gloucestershire, and will play a key role as members of the Mental Health Support Team, who will have the responsibility for delivering schools' overarching approach to providing mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people.</p>
<p>Potential candidates will have already successfully completed the HEE commissioned 1yr 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' course or the equivalent 'Children's Wellbeing Practitioner' course.</p>
<p>As part of this role there may be a requirement to travel across the localities.</p>

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>To allow the post holder, with appropriate supervision, to work as an autonomous and responsible practitioner as their training affords and within the scope of their job description, to engage in;</p> <p>o Delivering evidence-based intervention for children and young people in education setting with mild to moderate mental health problems</p> <p>o Helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services</p> <p>o Supporting and facilitating staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing</p> <p>o Working with and within education environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services and to use the acquired skills, knowledge and abilities to deliver a service based within education settings that builds on and reinforces but does not replace those initiatives that already exist within these environments.</p> <p><strong>The qualification, training &amp; experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.</strong></p>

This joint service between the NHS and SCC will provide four residential beds for children who are experiencing or are at risk of experiencing social, emotional and/or mental health crisis. We aim to provide a safe, stable environment where children's needs can be assessed and plans can be formulated to support children to return to living in the community, ideally within a family environment.</p><p>Hampshire and IOW healthcare NHS Foundation trust are looking to recruit a senior mental health nurse/practitioner a to support the day-to-day management of young people admitted to Westwood House, as well as completing outreach work for young people &amp; families/carers, who are either due to be admitted or have recently been discharged. This will include assessment, risk management and short-term evidence based psychological interventions.</p>

  <p>This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and creative senior nurse to be part of forming the service and leading on training for new staff to deliver on the vision. We want to ensure that we provide a safe environment with highly skilled staff where we can really understand the underlying issues behind presenting crisis and ensure that any future planning is undertaken in a calm, considered way to ensure longer term stability for children.
