Trainee High Intensity Therapist

  <p>This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of the Cheshire Mental Health Support Team's (MHST) based in Cheshire West. We have 1 post available within the Cheshire West team.</p> <p>The Band 5 Education Mental Health Practitioner/CYPWP will work with colleagues in the Cheshire West MHST based in Chester &amp; Winsford, working closely with education settings and professionals supporting children, young people and their families.</p> <p>The post involves working directly with schools, colleges and settings providing information, advice and guidance through consultation, training, direct work with children and young people and their parents / caregivers and delivering evidence based interventions.</p> <p>We require successful applicants to have professional registration with recognised National Body (BPS, BABCP) OR be able to obtain this within 6 months of start date. Note if the successful applicant does not hold professional registration they will be recruited to a 6 month fixed term contract to allow time for professional registration to be completed. The contract will be amended to permanent once professional registration has been confirmed.</p> <p><em>We are happy to consider applications from current Band 4 trainee EMHP/CYWP's due to qualify in September 2025.</em></p> <p>This post is part time 22.5 hours per week</p>    <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post-holder will work within Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Mental Health Support Team (Cheshire West MHST) and provide a range of assessment and other interventions on an individual and wider systems basis under close clinical supervision from experienced staff.</p>
<p>Accessing regular case management and clinical supervision on an individual and group basis will be an important aspect of the role.</p>
<p>The post-holder will be able to deliver a range of 1:1 and group Low Intensity CBT based interventions for children, young people, and parents/carers.</p>

The St Helens Wellbeing Team are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Infant Feeding Supporter Worker to join our vibrant and friendly service. Working alongside our experienced team and valued partners, you'll support parents with all aspects of infant feeding - from pregnancy through to introducing solid foods. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, empathetic, and motivated by making a difference to families' lives. Main duties of the role: You'll provide information, encouragement and support on infant feeding through 1-1 contact, phone support, home visits and group sessions.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You'll also be involved in borough-wide promotion of responsive and evidence-based infant feeding practices. While experience is welcome, it's your passion for supporting families, ability to build trust, and confidence delivering sessions that will make you stand out. We'll provide full training, and the role includes use of IT systems and digital tools to help us connect with local families. </p> <p>Our service operates: Monday to Friday, 8am-8pm Weekends and Bank Holidays, 10am-4pm. Shifts will be allocated within these times, and flexibility is essential to meet service needs. <p><strong>What you will be doing</strong></p>
<p>You will work 37.5 hours a week as the Senior Psychologist for a service that offers (Neuro-Forensic Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation for adult males).</p>
<p>In collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and under the direction and supervision of the Joint Heads of Psychology, you will support the delivery of psychology services across St Mary’s Hospital. In the absence of the Joint Heads, you will act as the primary point of contact between the psychology department and the senior management team.</p>
<p>As the Senior Psychologist you will have active participation in multidisciplinary team work, ensuring that our service users are fully engaged in their care pathways. It also includes supporting clinical team efforts through both direct interventions and the facilitation of staff training programmes. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new initiatives and ways of working within the service and working in partnership with both internal and external agencies to enhance treatment pathways for service users.</p>
<p>There is a strong emphasis on teamwork, supervision and CPD, with support from a regional network of Psychologists.</p>
<p><strong>As a Senior Psychologist you will be:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Providing psychological assessments of patients based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological (and neuropsychological) tests, self-report measures, rating scales direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the patient’s care.</li>
    <li>Formulating plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of acquired brain injury and forensic risk designed around the patient’s needs, and employing methods unpinned by relevant evidence-based practice and appropriate conceptual frameworks.</li>
    <li>Implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals within and across teams.</li>
    <li>Acting as psychologist for a ward and/or group of patients as directed by the Joint Heads of Psychology.</li>
    <li>Developing and managing groupwork programmes and innovative therapeutic approaches and ensuring that appropriate outcome measures are in place.</li>
    <li>Taking a key role in Psychology service developments, providing an evidence-based approach to new clinical initiatives.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>To be successful as a Senior Psychologist, you'll have:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Successful completion of a Doctorate level qualifcation in applied psychology (clinical, forensic, counselling) either through the British Psychological Society or a recognised training body, enabling registration with the HCPC as as Practitioner Psychologist.</li>
    <li>Experience (either pre-training, on training, or subsequently) of working with clients with complex needs that are relevant to the service population. This can include forensic, neuropsychological rehabilitation, learning difficulty, neurodiversity and complex trauma.</li>
    <li>Competency in psychological assessment and formulation skills and an aptitude for learning new assessment methods including standardised cognitive assessment (WAIS, RBANS etc)</li>
    <li>A well developed competency in structured risk assessment and management tools.</li>
    <li>Experience in one or more therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, CAT, CFT, EMDR etc)</li>
</ul>
