<p>Beyond clinical leadership, you will play a key role in service development, shaping strategy, and contributing to pathway reconfiguration to meet evolving needs. <p><strong>As a Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist, you will:</strong></p>

<p><strong>What you will be doing:</strong></p>
<p>You will&nbsp;provide specialist care and treatment to adult male patients who are detained under the Mental Health Act (1983). Our service users, many of whom have Acquired Brain Injury and forensic histories, require long term treatment and rehabilitation and present with multiple difficulties, including high risk behaviour and complex care needs. St Mary's hospital offers a breadth of opportunity and experience for clinical work, &nbsp;with a medium secure and a low secure ward; a Level 2 rehabilitation ward; and an Acute service. This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week.&nbsp;</p>
<p>In collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and under the direction and supervision of the Joint Heads of Psychology, you will support the delivery of psychology services across St Mary’s Hospital. In the absence of the Joint Heads, you will act as the primary point of contact between the psychology department and the senior management team.</p>
<p>As the Forensic/ Clinical/ Counselling/ Neuro Psychologist you will have active participation in multidisciplinary team work, ensuring that our service users are fully engaged in their care pathways. It also includes supporting clinical team efforts through both direct interventions and the facilitation of staff training programmes. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new initiatives and ways of working within the service and working in partnership with both internal and external agencies to enhance treatment pathways for service users.</p>

Together we will build on the experience and knowledge you have already gained to enable you to safely assess and treat a wide range of complex podiatry conditions for patients with a variety of other clinical needs, including: acute or chronic, neuropathies, chronic diseases, vascular problems, wound management and nail surgery.</p>

We work closely with our local acute Trust to support their high-risk diabetic out-patient clinics and there will be opportunities to shadow and develop your skills in this area. We also manufacture our own insoles using state of the art CAD-CAM technology and pressure mapping technology as well as developing new pathways and services to improve patient experience and outcomes.</p> <p>Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a podiatrist (or on qualification), you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with GPs and other healthcare professionals. Good IT skills are essential as the role requires working across a range of clinical systems. </p> <p>We will provide a fully structured induction programme and weactively support CPD and personal development for all staff and we will provide opportunities to develop within the role.</p> <p>The Podiatry Service is delivered from a number of community clinics, GP practices as well as nursing homes and domiciliary settings across Wirral, therefore you must have access to your own transport for work purposes. </p> <p>Wirral has excellent transport links to North Wales, Liverpool, Manchester, as well as the historic city of Chester. </p>
