  <p>A highly specialist speech and language therapist is needed to provide leadership and ensure that we achieve top quality physical health outcomes across our inpatient mental health units.</p> <p>We provide care to a wide variety of patients with speech, language, communication and dysphagia needs, such as ABI, Stroke, Dementia and trauma and work closely with our colleagues on the team and the wards.</p>  <p>We are a multidisciplinary satellite service providing physical healthcare across a number of sites for adult and older adult populations with an acute mental illness, including Dietitians and Physiotherapists as well as the ward staff (including nurses, occupational therapists, doctors, art/drama therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists etc.).</p> <p>You will be supported in your role by the Team Manager, whom you will also deputise for alongside the other Band 7 Clinicians. There is an expectation that you will want to clinically develop and contribute to research, audit and CPD both for yourself and the team.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Physical Health Allied Health Professions (AHP) Team works within mental health hospitals with patients who present with an acute mental health crisis. Patients who have been sectioned under the Mental Health Act are admitted to mental health hospitals for a period of assessment and treatment of their mental health diagnosis. During their admission the AHP Team are able to offer support with their physical health concerns.</p> <p> To provide S&amp;LT Service (assessment and management) to a designated caseload of the mental health inpatient population of West London NHS Trust. This will include Acute Mental Health Services and Older People's Mental Health Services.</p> <p> To be based at trust HQ and cover the in-patient wards of Ealing, Hammersmith &amp; Fulham, Hounslow and Southall as per designated caseload.</p> <p> To contribute to the development of the service and the provision of multi-professional training within the Trust.</p> <p>To support others by providing clinical leadership, day to day supervision, clinical advice and clinical supervision as appropriate.</p>

  <p><strong>Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (Qualified) - Band 5</strong></p> <p>We are looking to recruit a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to join large Talking Therapies Team in Havering. The Step 2 team is made up of a PWP Lead, 3 Senior PWPs, along with qualified and trainee PWPs, Therapy Assistants and Honorary staff. The wider team consists of Counsellors, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, a physical activity co-ordinator, and employment advisors. This is an opportunity for qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to develop their career by offering evidence-based low intensity interventions through guided self-help (6-8 sessions) and computerised CBT (SilverCloud). We also value experience or interest of delivering therapy in a group format, and provide opportunities to co-facilitate groups with Step 3 clinicians.</p> <p>Please only apply for this post if you are a newly qualified or an experienced Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, and hold the IAPT specific certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions.   <p>We have an active outreach team who ensure the service is well-known across the community, by attending events and running psychoeducational workshops. We value PWPs' participation in outreach and encourage contributions towards our Special Interest Groups (SIGs), such as long term conditions (LTCs), perinatal mental health, and LGBTQI+. In line with our trust values, we are a team that encourages continual professional development (CPD). We offer opportunities to attend training delivered through University College London, such as PWP Supervision and LTCs.</p>
<p>Each PWP is well-supported by daily clinicians on duty, weekly case management supervision, and monthly clinical skills supervision, along with a peer-led reflective space which contributes towards wellbeing. We also offer specific LTC and group supervision.</p>
<p>We have an in-house training programme, consisting of monthly sessions on advanced topics, to aid assessment skills and develop knowledge in areas such as PTSD, Grief, and Health Anxiety. This has proven helpful for newly qualified members of staff, to consolidate their learning post-training. There are also opportunities for team-wide training through external services, and we encourage PWPs' input in identifying further training needs.</p>

  <p><strong>Starting with NELFT</strong>NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.       <h3>Job responsibilities</h3>
      <p>As a key member of the ward team, you will work closely with the Occupational Therapy (OT) service to deliver therapeutic and recreational activities that support the rehabilitation of individuals with mental illness and a history of offending. Under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist, you will help co-develop and implement ward-based and community-facing programmes that promote recovery, independence, and well-being. This includes supporting access to vocational and educational opportunities, including the Forensic Recovery College.</p><p>Youll engage individuals and groups in structured therapeutic activities, monitor progress, and contribute to care planning through effective communication and documentation. The role requires the ability to work independently when facilitating sessions, adapt interventions to individual goals, and maintain clear boundaries and professional conduct.
