A qualified therapist/ counsellor, you’ve been working in the profession for at least a year, and now it’s time to take the next step.&nbsp; As a Place2Be Supervising Counsellor&nbsp;your main focus is assessment and formulation of referrals and supporting and overseeing the work of the Counsellors on Placement enabling them to deliver interventions across all year groups and achieve the best outcomes for the young people we support. You’ll still deliver some therapeutic work with children yourself, including some group/whole class work, but ultimately, you’ll be shaping clinical delivery of services within the school you operate.

<h2>Job overview</h2>The Role:<ul><li>Counselling students.</li><li>Supporting emotional needs of students.</li><li>Performing a risk assessment of students during the first and last sessions to determine the severity of issues faced and progress made using core forms.</li><li>Determining and applying different counselling strategies, theories, techniques and tools specific to the issues and needs of individual students.</li><li>Assisting students dealing with bereavement, bullying and other types of mental and physical abuse, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, eviction from home, self-esteem issues, eating disorders, sexuality, family break ups, peer pressure and exam stress.</li><li>Applying tailored counselling approach to students with severe mental health issues (tier1, 2 and 3 CAHMS cases)until they are transferred to CAHMS.</li><li>Provide counselling support to students after they finish their therapy at CAHMS.</li><li>Supporting parents/carers where appropriate.</li><li>Managing and prioritising the waiting list of students.</li><li>Supporting Pupil Premium students through counselling.</li><li>Assisting pupils on transfer to secondary school to integrate/adjust to their new environment.</li><li>Ensuring students who are referred to the unit are supervised.</li></ul>

A qualified therapist/ counsellor, you’ve been working in the profession for at least a year, and now it’s time to take the next step. As a  Place2Be Supervising Counsellor- Peripatetic&nbsp;you will provide quality service in schools in situations such as new school set up, cover School Based Staff long and short  term absences and extra support when required. You will effectively manage all aspects of the Place2Be school project in partnership with the school, ensuring that the children and young people are provided with therapeutic and emotional support.&nbsp;

We are seeking a Family Practitioner in our Place2Be schools across Greater Manchester. The role will be 3 days Tuesday Wednesday Thursday.
We know early intervention and working with parents significantly increases successful outcomes for Children. We know that positive parenting has a major impact on a child’s life chances. That’s why our Family Practitioner role is fundamental to our whole school approach. Working with Children and their families you’ll help the adults better understand and support their child’s mental health needs. You’ll be fundamental in establishing relationships with parents demystifying and reducing stigma around mental health so all children will have opportunities to access the support they need. You’ll help parents develop the skills they need to parent effectively and confidently.
You’ll have a level 4 diploma in Health and Social Care, Early Years or Counselling and Psychotherapy and will have worked in family support services or early years children’s centres, supporting children and families and delivering parenting interventions or programmes. You’ll have access to an enormous range of training and development and a pathway to develop and grow your career. Working closely with the clinicians in school and across your region you will be part of a wider community sharing best practice, developing new concepts and shaping our services for the future.
