<li>This is an opportunity for qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) who will be two years post-qualification by January 2026.</li>
<li>You will have completed the one-year EMHP Postgraduate Diploma</li>
<li>You will hold professional registration with either the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).</li>
</ul>
<p>The post holder will be expected to complete the requirements of the 2-year Senior Wellbeing Practitioner Post Graduate Diploma at Kings College London to enable progression to a fully qualified Senior Wellbeing Practitioner. </p>
<p>The KCL CYP MH Low Intensity Advanced Practice PGDip Course (for Senior Wellbeing Practitioners) start date is Monday 26th January 2026.</p>

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <ul>  <li>Work as part of the Lewisham MHST team to manage a defined caseload with a focus on providing focused assessment and evidence-based intervention for children and young people (CYP) with mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their parents/carers.</li>  <li>Plan and deliver whole school activities, as part of a school's whole school/college approach to mental health and wellbeing.</li>  <li>Provide consultation and guided signposting to education settings.</li>  <li>Be expected to provide Case Management and Clinical Skills Supervision to qualified and/or trainee EMHPs within the service.</li>  <li>Be able to work flexibly across a range of education providers. Promote the participation of CYP families, carers and the wider school community.</li>  <li>Promote equity, diversity and inclusion within their own role, the MHST and school communities, contributing to enabling other staff, children, young people, families, carers and the wider school community from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.</li> </ul>



  <h3>About us</h3>
  <p>Lewisham MHST is a growing service designed to help meet the mental health needs of CYP in education settings. As an early intervention service, the MHST delivers interventions in schools for those with mild to moderate mental health issues and supports schools with developing their whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing. The team will also help CYP with more severe needs access the right support, working with schools to provide a link to specialist NHS services.</p>

Our challenge is not just to meet this demand, but to build a model of care that works in partnership with service users, families, and the wider community.</p> <p>The Newham Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIS) team plays a key role in delivering the NHS Long Term Plan, particularly its focus on prevention through early detection and intervention. We are looking for psychologists who can bring both strong therapeutic skills and the ability to collaborate across services. Alongside delivering NICE recommended therapies such as CBT for psychosis and family interventions, you will work as part of a committed multidisciplinary team, ensuring care is joined up, formulation driven, and responsive to our community's needs.</p>

  <p>As a psychologist you will be central to the MDT, providing therapy to service users and their families, and supporting the team through reflective practice, consultation, supervision, and training. You will also help the team to think about and manage the complex relationship dynamics that can arise in psychosis, so that care remains safe, effective, and compassionate.</p>

  <p>This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to work in Acute Mental Health. You will be working in a very dynamic environment, which will provide you with many opportunities to learn and develop your therapeutic and systemic skills. There will also be an opportunity to be creative and innovative within the role, bringing new ideas, incorporating evidence-based practice into how the service is delivered.</p> <p>Within the ward environment, you will have the opportunity to develop skills and expertise in the application of psychology not just at an individual level, but at the team and group level. A strong interest in pursuing consultation and leadership roles and developing skills in assessment and practice within a group context is desired. Running reflective practice sessions for staff, consider your position in the team and wider systemic issues, together with an interest in developing the skills to intervene via a range of formats, e.g., ward groups, staff consultation, families/carers and the MDT.</p> <p>You will be well supported through regular clinical and managerial supervision as well as training to develop both professionally and personally within the role. There are many CPD opportunities as well as opportunities to join specialist supervision groups, such as the Trauma Clinical Network Group and other groups.</p> <p>Experience in an Acute Setting is not required for this role and we would consider newly qualified psychologists.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You will support and assist the core aims within the service, both in direct clinical work and as a positive member of the multi-disciplinary team and wider service, having an important liaison function supporting the transition of patients between services.</p> <p>You will provide psychological assessment and treatment, as well as psychological formulations and consultation to the multi-disciplinary team. You will also provide evidence-based group interventions such as DBT informed skills and support groups, as well as reflective practice/case discussions for staff.</p> <p>You will also be a qualified practitioner on site to offer supervision, advice, support and to work with the assistant psychologists and trainee CAPS.</p>

<p>NEIS is a progressive and evolving team, looking to recruit a candidate who is similarly interested in creative, biopsychosocial approaches to supporting individuals with First Episode Psychosis.</p>
