  <p>We are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to provide a rapid response, senior Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment of complex patients within Emergency department, short stay unit and patients referred from the community in order to prevent admission to hospital and promote early discharge.</p> <p>In doing this you will work as part of a strong multidisciplinary team, within an interdisciplinary working model, to facilitate hospital discharge and prevent acute admission.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have strong experience as an Occupational Therapist in an Acute Therapy or Rapid Response setting. You should have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.</p> <p>You will be encouraged to develop your clinical, teaching and management skills through opportunities within the team and in the wider organisation. You will have support from a Clinical Specialist Lead and experienced staff across the team. The team has close links with other services, including IAPT, secondary care mental health teams and maternity as well as third sector organisations. <p>The main clinical work undertaken is to provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention for mothers and their babies and families in the community. The post holder will also offer clinical supervision to more junior staff and trainees.</p>
<p>The post holder will be involved in delivering evidence-based individual and group-based interventions. The psychological therapies team include clinical and counselling psychologists, as well as CBT therapists. The successful applicant will be part of a friendly and supportive team. There is an established reflective practice space for the whole team as well as regular individual supervision provided by the senior psychologist. Opportunities to develop supervision skills are consistently available and Oxleas has a longstanding relationship with clinical and counselling doctorate programs in taking trainees and developing the wider workforce.</p>

      <h3>Job responsibilities</h3>
      <ul>
<li>To be responsible for the day to day management of psychological provision to the team. They will identify areas for development or challenges and work closely with the clinical leads, operational manager and senior psychologists to implement and address these.</li>
<li>To operate as an integrated member of the team, placing the patient at the centre of service planning and delivery.</li>
<li>To bring a psychological perspective to the work of the team. To develop and support the psychosocial work of other staff through teaching, training supervision and consultation.</li>
<li>To provide psychosocial assessment, formulation and interventions to patients.</li>
<li>To promote and facilitate psychological capability within the team and to promote psychosocial interventions within the teams. To provide specialist advice to the teams and voluntary sector agencies concerning the assessment, treatment and management of patients accessing team.</li>
<li>To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the team.</li>
<li>To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.
