  <p>The Genomic Associate will be based in the Clinical Genetics Service at Northwick Park Hospital and will work alongside clinical geneticists, genetic counsellors, laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to provide enhanced contact with patients at the point of referral, and after genetic testing and counselling, to facilitate the collection of information and obtain consent, where needed. The genomic Associate will also help to facilitate access to the service, particularly amongst marginalised communities and families who are difficult to engage. The post holder will be responsible for requesting test reports, relevant tissue/samples and testing by liaising with laboratories, families, and clinical teams, as well as the tracking of such requests They will keep clinicians and patients updated on progress, highlighting any long waiters.</p> <p>Under supervision, you will support the team with keeping spreadsheets, databases and portals updated for gene carriers, as well as undertaking regular audit to ensure patients are accepted onto screening programs. They will be responsible for arranging breast screening for those at high risk and keeping spreadsheets/records updated.</p> <p>the post holder will support the team with cancer triage by obtaining family history information, entering of data for online cancer risk assessments and generating a risk calculation using that program (e.g. CanRisk) for interpretation and use by genetic counsellors and clinical geneticists.</p>

<p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work in the Therapies Team at our new Adult Acute Inpatient Wards, Silverwood.</p>
<p>The post offers a diverse range of experience working with people with complex mental health difficulties. You will join a friendly and supportive group of psychologists in the locality and there will be opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills through CPD. The trust has an enviable care pathways system which values Psychology, Psychotherapy and the Arts Psychotherapies. There are opportunities to train in DBT, CBT for psychosis, family interventions, CBT for personality disorders and structured clinical management.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p><strong>Variety:</strong> You will have the chance to work with a wide range of complex presentations including affective disorders, psychosis, and personality, and using a variety of methods and approaches. With assessments, individual therapies, group therapies, family interventions, MDT working, complex case meetings, indirect interventions using a Positive Behaviour Support framework, and supervision all part of the role, it's safe to say that no two days will feel the same! Many of our Psychologists in acute services find that the switching really helps to stay energised.</p>
<p><strong>Fast-paced:</strong> You will get to be reflexive; formulating problems, identifying with teams when attempted solutions create a new or different problem, and supporting teams to remove barriers to discharge and supporting people to have an independent and personally meaningful life outside of hospital. Expect your day to fly by!</p>
<p><strong>Autonomy:</strong> Acute Inpatient Psychologists can personalise and tailor the role of Psychology for their wards.</p>
<p><strong>Leadership:</strong> You will be able to develop the role of Psychology and influence the direction of the wider team in an environment designed for recovery and safety. Psychology's expertise are really valued for differential formulations, reducing restrictive practices, and delivering trauma-informed and Psychologically-informed care.</p>

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>As an HCPC registered Allied Health professional, reporting to the Consultant psychological lead for Tower Hamlets, you will supervise the clinical and professional aspects of all arts therapists working in in adult mental health services. Their line management will be held by other colleagues in either inpatient or locality psychology teams. </p> <p>You will ensure that the art therapists are supported to meet resident's needs via group, partnership working and 1:1 work. This will be through development of guidance and best practice for the art therapy professionals in the borough. Ensuring that activity is effective, acceptable and increasingly co-produced. There will be scope to explore partnership working with voluntary and charitable sector organisations, to further disseminate the benefits of art therapies through supervision and consultation.</p> <p>There will be time for clinical work and other service development activities. </p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>1. To be responsible for the overall provision of a specialist Arts Therapies assessment and treatment service for adults within the Directorate</p> <p>2. To be responsible for all clincial and professional aspects of the Arts Therapies offer within Tower Hamlets and ensure that clear systems are in place and working effectively for management and productivity</p> <p>3. To lead in the development of the Arts Therapies service, including proposing and implementing service developments within the area served by the team and in liaison with the Senior Leadership Team, Professional Lead for Arts Therapies, and other Head Arts Therapists in the Trust.</p> <p>4. To manage and supervise the Arts Therapists and trainee Arts Therapists across the directorate</p> <p>5. To provide specialist Arts Therapies assessment and treatment for own clinical caseload</p> <p>6. To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of the Arts Therapies service and to understand and contribute research and quality improvement in relevant specialist fields</p> <p>7. To establish and maintain good working relationships with all other operational and clinical managers in both inpatient and community settings in the borough.</p>
