Our house offers a calm, safe environment where residents can take time to stabilise and focus on their wellbeing. We provide therapeutic support to help each person feel ready and confident to return home. Stays are usually up to 10 days, although men who are of no fixed abode (NFA) may stay a little longer if needed.</p><ul>	<li>We’re a non-CQC registered service.</li>	<li>Our team is here day and night, 24/7, every day of the year.</li>	<li>The service is run by Rethink Mental Illness, working closely with AWP, who handle all referrals through their Crisis Teams.</li></ul><p><strong>How you will make a difference:</strong></p><p><strong>Staffing, Leadership &amp; Oversight</strong></p><ul>	<li>I will ensure that staff have the correct guidance and support to fulfil their roles and will ensure that a monthly 24/7 rota ensures enough staffing capacity to deliver effective support.</li></ul><p><strong>Quality of Support &amp; Environment</strong></p><ul>	<li>I will ensure that a high standard of support is embedded within the service and will promote and support an inclusive environment.</li>	<li>I will ensure that high quality support planning, risk management, outcomes measurements are in place for all residents in the service at all times.</li></ul><p><strong>Referrals &amp; Risk Management</strong></p><ul>	<li>I will review all referrals into the service and ensure these are appropriate for the service remit and that risks are manageable during the residents stay. I will ensure that all referral documentation is received.</li></ul><p><strong>Partnership &amp; Multi-Agency Working</strong></p><ul>	<li>I will work closely with AWP Crisis Teams and ensure highly effective working relationships are in place at a management and front line level to ensure the crisis house provides the right standard of support to residents using a multi-agency approach.</li></ul><p><strong>Activities &amp; Resident Engagement</strong></p><ul>	<li>I will ensure activities offered to residents in the house and externally are varied and meet residents needs and demand and are within agreed budgets.</li></ul><p><strong>Incident Management &amp; Learning</strong></p><ul>	<li>I will manage and review all incidents and severe untoward incidents that occur at the crisis house ensuring that learning is adopted and shared as needed with AWP and the commissioners. Housing Management Officer

<p>We have an exciting opportunities for a&nbsp;<strong>Qualified</strong>&nbsp;or <strong>Trainee Single Disciplinary (IMHA) Advocate</strong>&nbsp;to join our established and friendly Advocacy Team.&nbsp;</p><p>We work for <strong>Rethink Advocacy</strong>, which is part of <strong>Rethink Mental Illness</strong> a national charity that has been transforming the lives of people severely affected by mental illness for over 50 years.</p><p>As an <strong>unqualified, inexperienced</strong> independent single discipline advocate, you will be required to enrol on the Level 4 Independent Advocacy Practice qualification and complete the course within a set timescale, using protected study time to focus on this. You will shadow experienced team members and then be observed providing advocacy to those who are eligible for our services until you are able to pick up a caseload of your own. Although your focus will be on one particular remit of advocacy, you will receive training across the different remits of advocacy, instructed and non-instructed advocacy and safeguarding and be supported to develop a thorough understanding of the role and boundaries of advocacy. The role involves acting on the instruction of the people you support, empowering them to have a say in their situation, to understand their rights and any options open to them and supporting them towards self-advocacy. When providing non-instructed advocacy, you will ensure that the unique preferences and views of the person are taken into consideration in any decisions made by care providers.</p><p>As a <strong>qualified and / or experienced</strong> independent advocate, you will provide statutory and / or non-statutory independent advocacy to those who are eligible for the service within the community or care settings. This will include secure facilities and hospitals.</p><p>As a field worker, you will be based in the community and will manage your own calendar, planning in client visits effectively as well all administrative tasks.</p><p>You will work across Wandsworth and Richmond and therefore will need to have the ability to travel between multiple client appointment locations across the day, as well as travel to team meetings and training sessions as required.</p><p>Advocacy is having someone by your side, and on your side, when you want to be more involved in decisions about your care, treatment and living arrangements. An advocate can talk through the situation you’re currently in and the options open to you. They can help you decide what you want and then communicate it to people. <p>This is a rotational post between the newly opening Slough Community Diagnostic Centre at Upton, Wexham Park Hospital (Slough), Heatherwood Elective Centre (Ascot), St Mark's Hospital (Maidenhead) and King Edward's VII Hospital (Windsor).</p>

Where needed, you will work closely with colleagues at Steps 3 and 4, and external services, to support safe onward referrals and step ups, at all times maintaining and advocating for patient dignity, confidentiality and inclusivity.</p><p><strong>This role will require a minimum of 2 days per week on site in Derbyshire.</strong></p><p><strong>Getting to know You</strong></p><p>Each PWP brings their own unique skills, background, and experiences to their practice.
