Lead Clinical Psychologist

  <p>Band 7 CBT Therapist or Clinical Psychologist</p> <p>We have an exciting, full-time job opportunity for a psychological therapist who would enjoy working in a specialist secondary care service for people with bipolar disorder and related conditions. The role would suit either a clinical psychologist or a BABCP registered CBT therapist. The successful candidate would join our dedicated team of psychological practitioners delivering interventions to people with mood disorders which includes the Mood on Track programme, a group-based CBT programme, also individual CBT and family intervention. Interventions are offered online and face to face.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have experience of working within secondary care mental health community services with either adults, older adults or young people. This experience may be prior to therapeutic training. The service provides intervention across the age range and is currently further developing the offer for young people.</p> <p>Research and service evaluation is a core part of our service model and opportunities to be involved in this will be available subject to interest and experience. We are committed to staff development and there may be potential for further intervention training e.g. PGCert for CBT in Bipolar and Psychosis and Family Intervention Training.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The successful applicant will deliver Mood on Track group CBT plus an individual staying well intervention. They will engage in psychological assessments for the programme and specific interventions. They will also deliver individual CBT and Family Intervention following Mood on Track. We are a multidisciplinary team and work closely with other teams within the trust. Liaison with other teams and services is a key part of the role.</p> <p>We work across the city, so there is an expectation to be able to travel to sites in different localities. You should have experience of working with service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs; additionally, to be familiar with the needs of a diverse BAME community and working in areas of high socioeconomic deprivation.</p> <p>We will consider part-time workers and flexible working arrangements.</p>

  <p><strong>Art Psychotherapist - Band 7 - Forensic Intensive Recovery Support Team (FIRST)</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a 0.6 WTE Band 7 Art Psychotherapist to join the Forensic Intensive Recovery Support Team (FIRST), a specialist forensic community mental health team based in Rubery, South Birmingham and covering the West Midlands area. The aim of the service is to contribute to the successful transition of adult service users with significant risk histories and mental health difficulties out of secure inpatient services and support their continued recovery and risk management in the community.</p> <p>With our art therapist due to move onto a new role in the Trust shortly, we are keen to maintain art therapy provision in FIRST, as this has been highly valued within the service. The role within our vibrant community team includes delivering specialist art therapy assessments and interventions on an individual basis with service users, with the potential for facilitating group interventions too; providing specialist advice and consultation to multi-disciplinary colleagues; supporting the delivery of reflective practice for staff; and contributing to the ongoing development and evaluation of art therapy within FIRST and wider Secure Care.</p>

  <p>You will be joining our friendly Psychological Therapies team in FIRST, which includes practitioner psychologists, specialist psychological practitioner, assistant psychologists, all of whom have developed strong appreciation of the beneficial role art therapy can play in our service users' ongoing recovery.. You will be supported by the Head of Arts Psychotherapies within the Trust and have regular clinical supervision from an Art Psychotherapist. In addition, the Division funds forensic arts therapy group supervision and encourages attendance at local and Trust-wide development meetings for Arts Psychotherapists.   <p>We're seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (Band 8a, 1.0 WTE) to help shape and deliver psychologically-informed care in our 24/7 recovery house service--a short-stay alternative to hospital admission for adults experiencing acute mental health distress.Working flexibly within a multidisciplinary team, you'll provide trauma-informed assessments, brief interventions, and psychological leadership in a recovery-focused, inclusive environment that centres lived experience and cultural safety.</p> <p>Recovery House (RH)is a new and innovative service we are launching that meets an important need for people(18+)experiencing poor mental health. The RH will provide those in crisis with a safe, secure and welcoming environment to support the de-escalation of crisis. The House will be open to new and existing BSMHFT service users and will provide a homely environment, allowing people to retain independence, whilst receiving person centred and appropriate care.</p> <p>The service which is part of the Trust's Urgent Care pathway is a partnership with Birmingham Mind and builds on the range of strong collaborations we have with the voluntary sector.</p> <p>The RH will serve as a base for community integration, allowing service users to connect with local communities and provision, as well as their family/carers.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>

  <p>A rare and exciting vacancy has arisen for a passionate and highly motivated band 7/8a Practitioner Psychologist to join our Secure CAMHS team.</p> <p>The Secure CAMHS (SCAMHS) service sits within the Ardenleigh site and offers treatment for up to 11 young people, across two wards. It has received accreditations from QNIC and the National Autistic Society and a quality review in June 2024 highlighted strengths in a positive team culture, great relationships between young people and staff and comprehensive therapeutic provision. </p> <p>The young people we work with have often experienced significant difficulties in their lives and presentations include trauma, mental illness, personality difficulties, neurodevelopment difficulties and harm to self and/or others. As a team psychologist, you will work alongside a range of professionals, providing safe, containing environments and interventions to help the young people understand themselves, their mental health and offending behaviour. Within the role you will have opportunities to provide individual and group interventions, supervision and management of others, and be involved in training, service development, audit and evaluation.</p>

  <p>The CYP Eating Disorders Day Hospital Service is currently mobilising. This specialist provision delivers intensive, evidence-based care to children &amp; young people experiencing moderate to severe eating disorders. This innovative service aims to bridge the gap between inpatient and community care, offering a safe and structured alternative to Tier 4 admission &amp; facilitating earlier discharge from hospital settings.</p> <p>Operating through a MDT working collaboratively to provide holistic, person-centred care, each professional brings their expertise to support physical health monitoring, nutritional rehabilitation, psychosocial interventions &amp; occupational engagement, all tailored to the unique needs of each young person &amp; their family.</p> <ul>  <li><strong>In-reach and Outreach support</strong> to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions &amp; reduce relapse.</li>  <li><strong>Intensive day hospital interventions</strong> focused on recovery, risk management, &amp; re-engagement with daily life.</li>  <li><strong>Meal support and psychoeducation</strong> for young people &amp; their families, promoting sustainable recovery at home.</li>  <li><strong>Multidisciplinary care planning and supervision</strong>, ensuring continuity &amp; quality of care across settings.</li>  <li><strong>Training and consultation</strong> to professionals and carers, enhancing system-wide understanding and support for eating disorders. </li> </ul>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <ul>  <li>To provide specialist occupational therapy service to children &amp; young people with eating disorders.</li>  <li>To undertake comprehensive assessments of each patients needs to formulate individualised management &amp; treatment plans.</li>  <li>To provide specialist advice to patients with eating disorders deemed to be a high physical risk. To be aware of &amp; be able to identify patients at high physical risks, including the risk of refeeding syndrome &amp; provide appropriate nutritional advice regarding the management of risk together with liaison with the MDT regarding the management of risk in these patients, linking with medical and dietetic colleagues in the other Eating Disorders teams &amp; with acute medical services as necessary.</li>  <li>Deliver a range of non-pharmacological interventions following specific Occupational Therapy assessments to enable understanding of any expression of an unmet need &amp; to maximise an individual's abilities.</li>  <li>Complete and contribute to robust risk assessments &amp; risk management plans.</li>  <li>Utilise agreed outcome measures as part of the care planning &amp; evaluation process.</li> </ul>   <h3>About us</h3>
