			As part of Place2Be’s long-standing collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and University College London (UCL), we have been supporting the development and evaluation of ‘Learning Together’, a series of programmes designed to reduce bullying and increase a sense of safety and belonging at school for children and young people. Learning Together has also been found to have a positive impact on students’ mental health and academic attainment (initial findings&nbsp;published in the Lancet can be found&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(18)31782-3/fulltext" target="_blank">here).</a>&nbsp;&nbsp;

The Learning Together for Mental Health (LTMH) programme has been developed with a stronger focus on students’ mental health. LTMH includes training in restorative practice for school staff, a student needs assessment and facilitated Action Groups, in which staff and students come together to plan school activities or policy changes to address the mental health and wellbeing needs of the students. In a recent pilot study, LTMH was found to have good feasibility in participating schools. We are now very excited to be able to give secondary schools across the country the opportunity to trial LTMH in their school and to support the evaluation of this innovative programme.&nbsp;
We’re therefore looking to recruit someone to manage the delivery and evaluation of the Learning Together for Mental Health programme across approximately 140 secondary schools in England.&nbsp;The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operational management of the project, initially working closely with the Research School Engagement Officer to recruit and onboard schools and then with a team of Place2Be Facilitators to ensure the smooth delivery of LTMH in participating schools. The Research Trial Manager will also work collaboratively with the external evaluation team to support research activity in these schools.&nbsp;

Research Trial Manager

We have an exciting opportunity to join the central Facilities and Health &amp; Safety team to support the wider business and be accountable for the Southeast regional estates including hub sites and community sites.&nbsp; You will take on an integral role for the Southeast region, providing subject matter expertise for Estates and Facilities management provisions with a focus on building compliance and Health &amp; Safety. You will support and lead on facilities related central projects across a growing portfolio to deliver regionally. You will also support the Head of Estates &amp; Facilities with senior leadership planning and development of the department through senior leadership meetings.&nbsp; You will ensure there are robust up to date facilities/H&amp;S plans and procedures onsite using operational facilities manuals, whilst working closely with the Health &amp; Safety team. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to lead on the opening/closure of sites within your region, following project principles, as well as leading on sourcing community sites within your region by liaising and working with the local service to establish requirements. We create a safe place in schools where children and young people can open up without pressure or stigma, allowing our highly skilled and diverse counsellors to reach children, young people and their families who need us.
A qualified therapist/ counsellor, you’ve been working in the profession for at least a year, and now it’s time to take the next step.&nbsp; As a Place2Be Supervising Counsellor&nbsp;your main focus is assessment and formulation of referrals and supporting and overseeing the work of the Counsellors on Placement enabling them to deliver interventions across all year groups and achieve the best outcomes for the young people we support. You’ll still deliver some therapeutic work with children yourself, including some group/whole class work, but ultimately, you’ll be shaping clinical delivery of services within the school you operate.

 <li>Please note that not all schools will have placements available, but we will try our best to match you to a convenient placement.</li>
 <li>We recruit for Counsellors to start in school in January, April or September in line with school term time. Please note the recruitment and onboarding process can take 2-3 months.</li>

Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.
<ul type="disc">
 <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
 <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
 <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
 <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
 <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>
 <li>Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, and are recognised by the BACP and UKCP.</li>
 <li>A placement is an excellent stepping stone into a job opportunity and career with Place2Be, over&nbsp;⅔&nbsp;of our clinical staff were once Counsellors on Placement.</li>
 <li>We have places available in our projects in both primary and secondary schools nationwide.</li>

*Counting your hours
All clinical hours gained on placement can be used towards accreditation with a body such as BACP and UKCP. However if you need to gain clinical hours for your course, we would strongly advise that you check with your course tutor as to whether child hours are accepted before applying. If your course does not accept child hours but you would like to gain counselling experience of working with Children and Young People, you can still apply for a Place2Be placement as a second placement.

You will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist or studying towards one of these professions at the following levels:
