  <p>This post is advertised as an 8a post, we are willing to consider applications from Psychologists who do not yet meet the essential criteria for a Band 8a, but who would be interested in undertaking the post at a Band 7 initially, with a supportive plan for development and progression in due course.</p> <p>We welcome applications from staff who are currently coming to the end of their training in Clinical or counselling psychology that on successful completion will achieve the required qualification and registration with HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist. Trainee counselling psychologists are eligible to apply for and to be shortlisted for interview and to be offered qualified posts when they are in their 3rd year of the doctoral training and have the following confirmed as completed by the university. This information may be requested prior to interview: a. All clinical competencies. b. 80% of the 450 supervised clinical practice hours (360 hours)</p> <p>Trainee clinical psychologists are eligible to apply for and to be shortlisted for interview and to be offered qualified posts when they are in their third year of training, as they will have completed their core clinical competencies by this stage of the course.</p>

  <p>This is an exciting opportunity to take up a dynamic role within LDCAMHS in the Durham and Darlington community. You will be joining an enthusiastic and dynamic team, composed of different professionals including nursing, support workers, psychiatry, speech and language and occupational therapy. We have strong links with the IPBS Team and the Holly Unit, as well as our colleagues in generic CAMHS. There is a great emphasis on team working and supporting our collective wellbeing. You will also benefit from the wealth of experience from the other established staff members in the team. As a psychologist, you will be supported to develop professionally through opportunities for further training and effective supervision. The role is both varied and interesting, drawing upon a wide range of skills and experiences. It allows you to develop your therapeutic creativity in engaging with a diverse population of children and young people. You will have the opportunity to work systemically with families and our partner agencies. There are opportunities to pursue interests in research, audit, governance issues and leadership. You will also be joining a supportive network of psychological practitioners across the whole of Durham and Tees Valley, offering more opportunities for support, learning, and continuing professional development.</p>

  <p>This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to work in the A &amp; E of Mental Health. You will be working in a very dynamic environment, which will provide you with many opportunities to learn and develop your therapeutic and systemic skills. There will also be an opportunity to be creative and innovative within the role, bringing new ideas, incorporating evidence-based practice into how the service is delivered.</p>
<p>You will support and assist the core aims within the service, both in direct clinical work and as a positive member of the multi-disciplinary team and wider service, having an important strategic and liaison function supporting the transition of patients between services.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <ul>  <li>You will provide psychological assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team and offer consultation and treatment for our more complex cases.</li>  <li>You will offer clinical supervision to assistant psychologists and trainees, as well as Band 7 Psychologists and our multi-disciplinary colleagues.</li>  <li>There will be an opportunity to take a lead role in service development-oriented research and publishing research.</li>  <li>To ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking research and development activities relevant to the service area</li>  <li>To be regularly responsible for providing training placements for trainee clinical/counselling psychologists in this specialism.</li>  <li>To undertake high quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist psychology interventions in these services taking substantial professional responsibility and exercising autonomous judgement in their professional practice.</li> </ul>

  <p>We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced clinician who has experience and expertise working with complex cases within the area of adult mental health, to join an established, skilled Psychological Services team. Applications are invited for a Band 8a Principal Psychologist working 4 days a week (0.8 w.t.e). We will also consider applicants who are looking for a Band 7 post, with potential for preceptorship to Band 8a.We are dedicated to delivering high quality, evidence-based interventions. The range of psychologically focused therapies we deliver include DBT, CBT, ACT, MBCT, CAT, CFT and EMDR. You will join a psychologically minded multidisciplinary team. As a team, we are committed to working with and supporting the wider team to develop and implement their psychological skills.You will need to be keen to work flexibly within an MDT, and have well developed interpersonal skills.The post holder will be supervised and managed by a senior clinical psychologist and will be based in the Andover Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). We love to see our colleagues thrive and achieve their personal goals, so we place a real emphasis on quality supervision, rich CPD and encouraging our PWPs to take on leadership roles and training opportunities.</p><p><strong>Making People Better</strong></p><p>As a qualified PWP, you have a vital role to play in the service we provide to our clients.</p><p>Using your clinical expertise, you will assess the suitability of new referrals through telephone assessments and provide short term, low intensity interventions via telephone, online webinars, and computerised CBT (CCBT). Where needed, you will work closely with colleagues at Steps 3 and 4, and external services, to support safe onward referrals and step ups, at all times maintaining and advocating for patient dignity, confidentiality and inclusivity.</p><p><strong>This role will require a minimum of 2 days per week on site in Derbyshire.</strong></p><p><strong>Getting to know You</strong></p><p>Each PWP brings their own unique skills, background, and experiences to their practice.
