  <p>We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced clinician who has experience and expertise working with complex cases within the area of adult mental health, to join an established, skilled Psychological Services team. Applications are invited for a Band 8a Principal Psychologist working 4 days a week (0.8 w.t.e). We will also consider applicants who are looking for a Band 7 post, with potential for preceptorship to Band 8a.We are dedicated to delivering high quality, evidence-based interventions. We pride ourselves on contributing to the development and implementation of innovative interventions. The range of psychologically focused therapies we deliver include DBT, CBT, ACT, MBCT, CAT, CFT and EMDR. You will join a psychologically minded multidisciplinary team. As a team, we are committed to working with and supporting the wider team to develop and implement their psychological skills.You will need to be keen to work flexibly within an MDT, and have well developed interpersonal skills.The post holder will be supervised and managed by a senior clinical psychologist and will be based in the Andover Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). We would like the post holder to provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy individually and through group programmes as well as offering advice, consultation and training to staff in the team. Evaluation of interventions and the impact of the service in terms of benefit to clients is an important component of what we strive to do.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>To work as an autonomous, independent practitioner responsible for own work and intervention and for the interpretation of agreed guidelines and policies in providing a highly specialist Psychology service. To undertake complex assessments and consultancy, providing expert advice to Psychological Services colleagues and the wider clinical multi-professional team. To provide specialist treatment for complex cases and plan and prioritise own clinical workload; To comment and propose change to policy or service development within the area psychological service.To provide specialist supervision for trainee psychologists and to provide psychological guidance and supervision for multidisciplinary clinical colleagues.</p><p>To provide highly specialist psychological assessments of clients referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the clients care.</p><p>To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a clients mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the clients problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy. Where appropriate providing the role of lead professional and all duties this entails.</p>

The post holder would be working with service managers, psychological therapies workforce and primary care networks as well as local community organisations and people participation leads to take forward the vision for broader mental health transformation as well as the move to a more community psychology focus in delivery of psychological interventions within community settings.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The role requires a skilled clinician who can work both directly as well as indirectly to provide a range of clinical services and to manage and support psychology staff including senior psychologists, Clinical Associate Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists and other psychological professionals. You should have experience of working with service users with complex mental health including dual diagnosis and/or Autistic Spectrum Disorder presentations. Additionally, you will be familiar with the needs of local community of Newham and challenges of working with wider social determinants of health. </p> <p>You would be joining a dynamic psychological professionals' department within secondary care in Newham which offers a variety of evidence based interventions, as well as values practice based evidence, adapted therapies and co-production. You will have access to clinical supervision and professional management support from the Consultant Psychological Lead, and operational management support from a Senior Manager in community services</p>

  <p>As a PWP you play an integral part in the everyday workings of the service, from promotional work to assessing patients to providing clinical evidence-based interventions to help service users make lasting changes in managing their mental health.</p>
<p>Post holders will be completing clinical contacts 1:1 face to face, over the telephone, video consultation, group courses (remotely and in person) and CBT. Where needed, holding discussions with step 3 and/or step 4 clinicians to ensure step ups and safe onward referrals are completed and that patient dignity and confidentiality is maintained at all times. There will also be opportunities for community outreach work to promote the work we do to other services, educational settings and careers events.</p>
<p>The post-holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.</p>
<p>The post-holder will be required to work at any times between 8am and 8pm on weekdays as required by the service. The post-holder will also be required to participate in evening clinics offered by the service between 5pm and 8pm.</p>
<p>Alongside LI and HI CBT, the service offers Counselling for Depression, Couples Therapy for Depression, Mindfulness based CBT, IPT and EMDR. We are currently establishing good links with our Primary Care Networks and Secondary Care Mental Health Teams.</p>

  <p>We are excited to recruit two full time 8a posts, each to be based in CIMHS North and CIMHS South:</p>
<p>To support the development and leadership of community psychology approaches in Newham through working with psychology and non-psychology colleagues across a range of services</p>
<p>To provide highly specialist psychological assessments, formulations and interventions to secondary mental health services and those in the community, particularly those with complex mental health problem, who are vulnerable to poor health outcomes through poverty and other social inequalities, disabilities and physical health conditions.</p>
<p>To develop partnership working with local community organisations with the aim of community capacity building and co-production of psychological input. This includes supporting ongoing transformation work in line with a more flexible outreach psychological offer.</p>
<p>To develop, through co-production, psychological interventions that address the needs of those served including resilience and recovery, shared support, social connections and community engagement.</p>
<p>To offer and supervise adapted therapies with diverse communities such as Behavioural Activation for Muslim communities (BA-M), Islamic psychology and CBT-music for young black men.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Provide specialist psychological assessments of service users and carers. This is to be based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex psychological data from a variety of quantitative and qualitative sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and assessments with service users and others involved in their care.</p> <p>Be responsible for the formulation and implementation of a broad range of specialist psychological treatment and/or management of service users' mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of those problems derived from a broad theoretical knowledge of psychology, and employing methods based upon evidence of proven efficacy, across the full range of care settings.</p>

  <p></p><p>We currently have an opportunity for
a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist at our forensic mental health hospital, Heatherwood
Court. Comprising of a Locked Rehabilitation Service (1 female ward) and a Low
Secure Service (1 male and 2 female wards), Heatherwood Court treats patients with
complex needs, including severe and enduring mental illness, complex trauma,
and difficulties consistent with a diagnosis of personality disorder. </p><p>We are looking for applicants with
experience of working with service users with complex needs and risk behaviours
along with those who have an interest and prior experience of delivering
evidenced-based interventions for people with personality disorder and/or
complex mental health problems. We are particularly interested in candidates
who have received DBT training, but would offer training to suitable candidates
on appointment.</p><p>This post will join an established, dynamic
team of psychologists including a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, , Forensic Psychologist and
Assistant Psychologists, working as part of a specialist multi-disciplinary
team. The team are also supported by Positive Practice Workers, graduate
psychologists in blended role combining both support worker shifts and clinical
days with the teams. There are also regular opportunities to network with the
wider Iris Care Group qualified psychologists within Departmental Meetings and Psychology
away days.</p>
