CAMHS Highly Specialist Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

  <p>We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist to join our dynamic Diabetes Psychology Team (30 hours per week).</p> <p>If you are an enthusiastic and motivated clinician with experience in working with people with diabetes or Long-Term Conditions (LTC), and you are passionate about delivering evidence-based psychological interventions and service development, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>This is an excellent opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills within a multidisciplinary team and be involved in a key service development project. Regular supervision will be provided.</p> <p>The post holder will be responsible for delivering a specialist psychology service to patients living with Type 2 diabetes in Well Street Common PCN and Hackney Marshes PCN.</p> <p>Your work within the Diabetes Psychology team will be central to improving patient engagement, self-management, and overall outcomes, with a specific focus on addressing health inequalities. This includes identifying and working with patients who struggle to attend appointments, as well as providing one-to-one and group-based support for individuals struggling with diabetes related distress. It will also involve wider outreach in the community and skilling up primary care staff to improve effectiveness of patient contact.</p> <p>You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team with disciplines including Endocrinology, Nursing, Psychology, Dietetics, and Diabetes Lay Educators and the wider primary care team.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <ul>  <li>Clinical: Providing specialist psychological interventions to complex patients living with Type 2 diabetes, within HM &amp; WSC PCNs to improve self-management and promote active, healthy lifestyles.</li>  <li>Service &amp; Community Engagement: Identifying barriers to engagement in diabetes management within the two PCNs through focused research, including questionnaires and focus groups.</li>  <li>Awareness &amp; Outreach: Engaging with the community to raise awareness of diabetes management resources, with a strong focus on marginalised groups.</li>  <li>Staff Training &amp; Support: Skilling up existing staff on the knowledge and awareness of psychological barriers to engagement in diabetes care, and utilising resources like MDMs to improve the effectiveness of patient contact and reduce disengagement.</li>  <li>Peer Support: Setting up peer support initiatives based on identified need, making strategic use of existing community resources.</li>  <li>Sustainability: Developing a sustainable model of care that can be fully integrated into the PCN's ongoing services after the initial funding period concludes.</li> </ul>

CPI offers a range of activities to support psychologically informed care within the secondary mental health service. CPI has a strong presence in the Support and Recovery and the Crisis Teams.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You will provide specialist assessment, formulation, intervention and evaluation, alongside staff training, supervision, consultation, advice and support to the South Bristol Recovery team. You will also provide clinical and/or management supervision to more junior CPI staff, placements to Clinical/Counselling Psychology trainees and engage in service development work as appropriate.</p> <p>To work within the Assessment &amp; Recovery Services, it is essential for you to have experience of delivering therapy to this client group, and to have been trained in NICE guideline interventions (e.g. DBT, CBT, Family Interventions, CAT, MBT etc).   <p>This post is advertised as an 8a post, we are willing to consider applications from Psychologists who do not yet meet the essential criteria for a Band 8a, but who would be interested in undertaking the post at a Band 7 initially, with a supportive plan for development and progression in due course.</p> <p>We welcome applications from staff who are currently coming to the end of their training in Clinical or counselling psychology that on successful completion will achieve the required qualification and registration with HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist. the latest developments in psychological practice.</p>  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p></p><p>We currently have an opportunity for
a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist at our forensic mental health hospital, Heatherwood
Court. Comprising of a Locked Rehabilitation Service (1 female ward) and a Low
Secure Service (1 male and 2 female wards), Heatherwood Court treats patients with
complex needs, including severe and enduring mental illness, complex trauma,
and difficulties consistent with a diagnosis of personality disorder. </p><p>We are looking for applicants with
experience of working with service users with complex needs and risk behaviours
along with those who have an interest and prior experience of delivering
evidenced-based interventions for people with personality disorder and/or
complex mental health problems. We are particularly interested in candidates
who have received DBT training, but would offer training to suitable candidates
on appointment.</p><p>This post will join an established, dynamic
team of psychologists including a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, , Forensic Psychologist and
Assistant Psychologists, working as part of a specialist multi-disciplinary
team. The team are also supported by Positive Practice Workers, graduate
psychologists in blended role combining both support worker shifts and clinical
days with the teams. There are also regular opportunities to network with the
wider Iris Care Group qualified psychologists within Departmental Meetings and Psychology
away days.</p>

services meet regularly to share best practice and provide peer review
opportunities.</p><p>All our services offer opportunities for audit and research
and have established links with local universities and networks, including the
Offender Health Research NetworkCymru,. Networking and academic interests are
also encouraged, and clinicians are regularly asked to present at conferences
